Guys and gals...Thursday night I was trying email addresses...one of the ones I tried was "captaincoop@rocketpoppeteers.com". Then I forgot about it and went to bed...just now checked my email and I GOT A RESPONSE!!!

Here's what it says:

Sorry, kids. Captain Coop Cooper responds to verified Poppeteers only!

Become a Rocket Poppeteer and join the race to outer space!

But how would they know who are verified Poppeteers? Maybe you receive something back from mailing in the coupon that tells you what exactly to email them? There was nowhere to put your email address on the coupon, if I remember correctly.

Good deal searching the e-mail accounts that might work IG. The folks that sent in the mailers will probably get the step-by-steps for contacting them when the time comes.

Unless you've posted it online somewhere, only you and they know your real addy AND astronaut name together. You wouldn't really need a response, they would just have to reference your astronaut name and addy to your mailing to verify who is emailing them. You might want to try giving that info via another email to them from the same addy.

Yeah, except I haven't mailed in my coupon. Smile

Here's an additional interesting thing...I looked in my Sent box and I didn't actually send any emails to "captaincoop@rocketpoppeteers.com"...I actually sent the email to "coop@rocketpoppeteers.com".

I just sent two more, one with a subject of "Saturn" (guide your rocket ship to Saturn...) and one with a subject of "J. Smith" (astronaut J. Smith reporting for duty!).

But what I really want is to hear that someone who DID mail in their coupon actually gets something back...

Oh and P.S. - I just looked and I sent the email out Monday 5/24 at 9:47 pm PST...but I got the email from "captaincoop@rocketeers.com" on THURSDAY 5/27 11:52 pm PST (or maybe we're on PDT time right now, I can never remember...).

Interesting lag there on the response, like they didn't get the responses up and running until Thursday. Which would make me think they are probably still processing stuff including the mailed in coupons, and it's a holiday weekend to boot so maybe no one gets anything back until well into next week.

Edit: no responses back to the emails I sent today yet, FYI.

Edit: and the email I got back was definitely a response to my Monday email and not a reaction to something else I did, because the Subject matched what I sent out in that Monday email.

Is that another typo? The site we're dealing with is not rocketeers.com, it's rocketpoppeteers.com. You also said previously you'd sent email to coop, not captaincoop.

Sent an e-mail an hour ago and didn't get a response yet. Seems odd that there isn't an automated response!

Re: Email received!!!!

@Barmaid: Glad you got the hardcopies, sorry the USPS bent them (why I mailed them flat, so I wouldn't fold them before you even got them). Before you fold or mark them any more, I suggest you take the originals to your local Kinkos/copy store/library/place of work (gasp!) and make several new copies to play with. If you can't print your own originals, keep a 'pristine' copy of each and make origami out of the copies all you want. Very Happy

There shouldn't be any mystery behind this. When setting up an email account, often you can input a customized email "name" for sent mail. Example: if anyone gets email from my website, it reads "Website name - My name", and not just the email address I'm sending from. My site email address looks a bit generic, so I want those getting mail from me to know WHO is sending it, not just "contact@domain.com."

The same can work if the email addy you used is then forwarded to another email address, which then replied to you.

Either method could easily explain the differences between the email you sent to, and the one which replied to you. But you can certainly look at the actual sending address by viewing the Raw Source of the email.

Sorry, typo there. So to be clear, I sent the email to coopSPLATrocketpoppeteers.com. I received the response from captaincoopSPLATrocketpoppeteers.com (three days later).

@Film - Oh I know it was the mail...and it wasn't messed up, just had enough curve that the ad page wouldn't lay flat on the speech page, so I couldn't line up the edges enough to see which markings went over which words.

What did anyone else find - which words are they markings over specifically?

And good job on the email. I knew there was still more out there. We had email in the other games. I'll send mine off Monday all the same and make a note of this email address.

you can send a mail to azldkazdlkazndSPLATrocketpoppeteers.com and you will get an answer from the website, there is a system that transfere all the received mail from uncreated webmail adresses like "azlijdazdia"@rocketpoppeteers.com to a special adress that the webmaster can consult, and see the mails that were supposed never reach there destination ( I like this system, I've got it on my website )

wish you could understand me >.>

so I will try to creat a gmail adresse or hotmail, with the name of gordons collegues and send them a mail

but before ... what should we request ? what are the proofs ?

Ohh, pass me the info on what you're using on your site. That would come in sooo handy ;-p

I just sent an email to captaincoopSPLATrocketpoppeteers.com with a generic comment I've sent off my recruitment app, should be arriving soon.

I figured it was an autoresponder anyway but had to write something.

I think it would be interesting to know what Senjut actually wrote.

Or did you just send an empty mail?
