I see nothing on that site to indicate it's an alien hunter. Only that it's a amateur radio station. There are quite a few of those, and most have nothing to do with aliens.

And why would an IG web domain use the wrong spelling of 'cozmo' per Coop's email replies?

The last time I "battled the Red Cosmo" it was because I had too many!
Maybe "Coop" slurs when he drinks?

LOL

I just thought the site was odd, that is all.

I never claimed for it to be IG

.

I get it, but at a certain point in this game, we're going to have to 'weed out' the "interesting but OG" connections out of IG discussions, or threads will be 500 pages long and filled with OG material.

Or at least mark sidetracks as [OG] in the subject line so players have a chance to skip over them when searching for real IG information.

That or start a new thread topic TAKING A FLYER to collect such sidebars all in one place. A mod can easily move them if they go from OG to IG.

I'm okay with the occasional "interesting but OOG connections". It breaks up the monotony.
The one thing I'm not okay with are intentional gamejacks. Those are an utter waste of time.

Red Cozmo

Yeh guys, I got the Red Cozmo response too.

Sorry, kids!!! Captain "Coop" Cooper is out battling The Red Cozmo! Become a certified Rocket Poppeteers Astronaut and join the Race to Outer Space!

I highly doubt someone is rewriting them each time, I think someone suggested individual responses. Maybe there is some clue in all the variations? I have to admit I was starting to loose interest a bit.

I have been stuck on the new print out thread for scariestthingieversaw.com and decided to see what was going on with the Rocket Poppeteers thread. So I just read through all 67 pages to catch up and have a couple questions.

I didn't see a response from the poster who lived in ND near the post office. Have we not gotten an update?

Also, what is the earliest anyone sent out their maze and information to the ND post office?

 [SPEC] PDP-11 DEVICE Theory

Pure speculation.....

In reference to the DEVICE name on the PDP-11 simulator when you type .REENTER...

Wouldn't it be great if they mail the newly selected Rocket Poppeteers a flash drive with a DEVICE name?

Red Cosmos

This might be of interest but probably nothing. Red Cosmos is the name of a book about K. E. Tsiolkovskii the Grandfather of Soviet Rocketry.

http://www.thespacereview.com/article/1508/1

Thought you guys might be able to make something out of this. Confused

With all of this discussion on The Red Cozmo I was wondering if maybe it was not just a reference to the Russians? As we all know they call their astronauts, cosmonauts... Red of course being a color often associated with Russia.

Maybe it's not a clue, but just another way of saying he's out fighting the space race?

But then again, why the misspelling?

Agreed that this likely refers to the Space Race with the USSR during the Cold War.

Must admit: my first thought on seeing the Red Cozmo was that it sounded like an enemy of The Tick (i.e. the Red Scare: "Must kill Jimmy Carter!" LOL).

Given how "Coop" seems to be a character and not necessarily Gordon Cooper, NASA Astronaut, then I wouldn't be surprised if Coop had an arch enemy or two, the Russkies being a natural foe.

Ha.That was a good episode ofvthe live action Tick. But best is the cartoon. The villian with pig leg lol. Anyway I could agree with that .I kinda think the Coop in the newspaper is a comic mascot, but is based on G.Cooper.Not sure either will be part of the actual film .

Red Cosmos, Cozmos, Kozmos

Possibly a reference we should still be looking for in the 1963 (cold war era) newspaper clips that were a part of the Rocket Poppeteers pages?

That did contain references to the US/Soviet arms talks if memory serves me well.
