8th wonder
received a mail about the voting of the first motion....

Hi,
some months ago, while i was going on youtube in random mode, i get the trailer for the movie 8th wonder:

YouTube: Link

went to the site http://8thwonderland.com/ and registred, but nothing happened.

After 3 months, the day 12 April, i got this email:

Quote:

Hi guys,

You were waiting for it for 3 months; at last our Webmaster fixed the technical problems and launched it : the 8th Wonderland's new site!!

Now the forum is working! For the moment, there are 7 different topics (but perhaps we can make it 8 Smile ). You can post your reactions, propose your motions, give your feelings about the news...etc in short, you can finally have a conversation with others citizens...

The vote is working too! We will choose the first motion of our new country on Wednesday, April 21st. The motion we'll choose will be voted by referendum on Sunday, April 25th. And if it'll pass, we will do it!!

At last, we can work! At last, we can change things and we will!!

Welcome back home!

David, ambassador

PS : Thank you, Webmaster, for your excellent job. By the way, does anybody know who he is?

PPS : Your passport is waiting for you. For the moment, just a jpeg, but you will be able to complete, add a photo and settings, download it very soon...

PPS : any reaction or idea to improve our new country is welcome...

Anybody else got this?
Any information on what's this?

tomorrow for sure i'll see what's going on...

Remember today is voting day!

Also, I'm trying to figure a key phrase to get an answer out of the Ambassador at the moment.

So far,

"What is your name?"-> Tells you that his name is Dave and that is an ambassador.

"How are you doing?" -> Gets annoyed and logs off

"When will we get passports?" ->He brings up "Meetic" and takes to like it's porn.

So I started going through all the "answers" and found some interesting stuff

http://8thwonderland.com/datas/answer/Q01/R1.flv
http://8thwonderland.com/datas/answer/Q02/R1.flv
http://8thwonderland.com/datas/answer/Q03/R1.flv
etc
etc

Apparently there is a character named Mc Clane who this guy doesnt like to much..

I couldn't find it in the list of .flv's but if you type in "Mc Clane" as a question you should get 1 of 3 answers. 1 is particularly interesting as it cuts away to an infomercial selling 8th Wonderland product...I'm trying to find a link

Still one of the answers you got was a generic answer, like when I ask about buzz words like; Terrorism, WMDs, etc.

But I have to admit, the web master question was a good one. Hm, I didn't seem that American question. Yet the "Mc Clane" answer almost made me fall out my chair, I'll see if I can snap a picture of the phone number at the end incase it's something to look into.
--

How odd, It doesn't seem like I access the video twice.
"Mc Clane again, what a freeloading parasite." "Mc Clane? I'm the true Ambassador of 8th Wonderland."

I did find something amusing, during the roll of answers about passport (I guess it's perverted to ask) he mentions that "I didn't smuggle my self into this country to be asked theses types of questions."
Most likely a joke, but it causes some chin rubbing for me.

And on further search, it seems he's the only character with a full name.
"John McClane."

Yeah, I guessed as much.

Maybe it's a nod to him, who else would be a full American-type name?

Phone number info, looks like it a fake.
At least for me it is.

Yeah, I was remembering the movie "The Last Action Hero." Where they brought up all the numbers in the phone book were 555...

Still, it was worth a shot.

555 numbers aren't always fake, just the 555-0000 - 555-0189 (or 0199, don't recall) range are reserved for Hollywood use.

555-1212 is information, equivalent to 411.

Anyone playing this? I just looked at the website, and there is a bunch of stuff on there that doesn't seem to be referenced here. It also said something about launching May 12, which might explain a prior lack of content.

Condom machines on the churches of the Vatican. Hilarious.
