 		[SPEC] plot guess
im guessing its gonna be as current as 2002 due to the remote viewer..but the story will be mostly based in the late 60's..the thing will bust out and run around the near by town and be filmed by a boy on his super 8 film and killed or escape

 		Maybe it will be a pseudo-documentary like Cannibal Holocaust, with old super 8 footage pieced together with current commentary? I'd like that.

 		Yeah, a mocumentary would be interesting. JJ (and his team) can do it btw. - look at Oceanic Six Mocumentary, mini-series "Mysteries of the Universe" or Cloverfield fake news. That'd be cool.

This my friend would be golden. However that would seem to be really niche market to make a movie as a summer blockbuster.

I don't think 2002 in the RemoteView splash screen necessarily means our alternate reality takes place in 2002. I don't think that's what you meant in your post but I think it's been mentioned before. 2002 is simply the year the Remote View software was copyrighted.

 		It seems a bit more plausible to me that we're viewing the desktop of a person in our current time who has uncovered a 1970s government cover-up and is using a simulator to uncover some details.

 		Personally I like the 8 super monsters theory. Sounds cool, but a tad juvenile. And is also not likely to be the correct theory.

 		i'm thinkin that the 1977 computer date will reflect the involvement of D. Morris and what he finds leading us thru the Viral game up to the beginning of the film which is the 1979 train crash and subsequent mayhem..
So, i'm predicting the ARG will be from 1977 thru 1979 and the film will begin where the trail leaves us off.. ala Cloverfield which left us with a destroyed drilling platform and something on its way to NYC.

Perhaps this is going to only have a fairly superficial involvement of characters from the film, with the central character of this story being a relatively small cameo in the film - like Jamie Lascano with Cloverfield. The cameo I suspect is that our person here will end up being the person in the truck.

 		Following on from that, it's simply the canister of film that is relevant to the plot of the film? So there's truck person and filming person? Do we have evidence from the trailer that the accident was filmed in Super 8 format?
