Chiming in as someone from the Princeton area to say that this is true and it's the only time I have heard the noise. As far as I know we don't have a system like that in place for floods/nuclear meltdowns.

Although I would tend to agree that it is more an effect of distortion since we first hear a roar that morphs into the siren sound after the video begins to break up.

I'm only in PA for a few more months before I migrate to Florida.
Then I get to make local references to TribeTwelve, haha.

Anyway, Evan is obviously cracked. It's SUPER OBVIOUS. My take on the events? During the hiking video Evan went after the Slenderman and did, in fact, stab the crap out of him. Hence why he was kneeling in the middle of those bags with the knife in the ground...he stabbed Slenderman. Slenderman pulled some weird supernatural hax out of his rear and vanished before Vince and Jeff could see this. Evan, already slightly off tilt, lost it when he saw Slenderman vanish, and the bags were funny because he was, at that point, CTHULHU insane.

As for the segments with Evan and Vince, there's a very subtle hint of a third party during this. Mainly when they say "we'll just show you the footage" and the camera angle moves. Vince and Evan never touched it. This tells me that Jeff isn't missing/looking for somethin', he's manning the camera and Vince is caught between Evan and Jeff. Possibly with knives.

Sucks to be Vince right now.

hey im new, but ive been lurkin around this board since like april. has anyone else wondered, who's moving the camera at certain parts during the non-woods parts? maybe it's what vinny and evan look at on the floor at 4:23? (the very last second)

I don't know, the clank at the beginning sounds more like something from a weight machine. Besides, there's been incongruous noises in the other videos also. Those frogs showing up right in the middle of one of the other episodes, for instance.

Not sure that the clank at the beginning or the typing in the background at the end mean anything at all really.
Also, someone suggested that maybe the distortion was a spectrograph earlier; In my opinion, it really doesn't sound like one...

On the other hand, I do think the knife behind the back thing is very likely.
Probable, even.

I would think otherwise about the sound in the beginning if it weren't for the fact that Vinny jumps slightly when he hears the noise.

The 'knife behind the back' theory is really the only reasonable assumption after watching Evan go bonkers. The typical thing to do next would be to have Vinny give coded messages to us through his own videos, but these guys seems to shy away from typical.

PS. @grieck ALWAYS okay with more good Slender Mythos. Get working!

I did but it suffers the curse 90% of my writings do: I don't like it so far. The good news is I think i'll still stick with it, edit it/re-write/improve. I still have to do some talking to see if it might become somethiing to be watcched rather than read, but in truth I think it would work better (and be easier to write) that way. Conveying horror through mere words has always been hard to me, but actions and dialogue is rather easy.

I'm going along with the "knife behind the back theory" as well. By the way, has anyone received their wristband yet?

Folks, maybe you're reading a little bit too much into things? The metallic noise at the beginning is probably just an incidental noise. Also, Vince doesn't react to the noise *at all*, not sure where those claims are coming from. He simply sighs, looks up and begins speaking. Speaking of Vince, dude looks like he's about to laugh throughout the "intro" bit. Worst performance by him thus far.

Siren was jarring, but not in a "oh shit" scary kind of way. The "tentacles" were lame, though Slendy's appearance and exit was nicely done. The knife stab into the ground... lame. The "blood"... lame. I mean, really, it was like water with some food coloring (granted, that's probably what it really was) not blood. Now, I don't expect Hollywood-esque special effects (or acting for that matter) but jeez. Use corn syrup or something.

The theory about Evan holding a knife to Vince's back... where does this come from? Obviously we're supposed to get the impression that Evan is becoming unhinged but I think it's a bit of a jump to assume he's holding Vince at knife point and forcing him to say things. I think it's more likely that Vince realizes Evan is becoming unhinged and is trying to walk on eggshells around him. I thought Evan was way too hammy/cheesy throughout but after the "hiking video" portion, he actually succeeded in coming off as disturbed.

The Jeff disappearing thing could be interesting, we'll see. I actually enjoy this "side story" a lot but I think they dropped the ball with this entry. Hopefully things get turned around with Vince's and Evan's individual videos (if that's what we get)

As far as the cameraman in the non-woods parts of the video - isn't Jeff's brother Alex normally the cameraman for them anyway? Jeff may have run off, but Alex is still around, and I just assumed he was the one operating the camera for the intro and the end.

The metallic sound at the start of the video is strange, but I'm not sure it's a knife or a gun or anything. I know that sometimes when I hit record on a video camera, if I accidentally knock against part of the camera as I'm pulling my hand away it can make a weird noise like that. Does that make any sense? Hahah I feel like I'm failing at describing what I mean.

The air raid siren could be symbolic of something, but I think it's slightly more likely that it was put in as a general sound of impending doom of some sort. I was in college during the Virginia Tech shooting, and right after that went down my university instituted a campus alarm system in case of an emergency like that. The alarm sounded exactly like an air raid siren, and it gave me the creeps every time they tested it. I think it's pretty solidified in our consciousness as a very bad sound to hear, regardless of what it's specifically warning us.

Oh, and those bags definitely made me shit myself, because they instantly reminded me of that creepy garbage bag I found when I failed at searching the park that one time. Bah.

Anyone else wondering what Jeff is looking for??

Nah they say right in entry 1 that Jeff is the official cameraman.

Heh heh.

New poster here. Hi.

It's interesting to note in the video that even before Vince gets the bag officially open and spewing out yuck, at 2.40, you can hear Evan give off this tiny little chuckle. Vince has already stabbed the bag - so he's not laughing at that. Is he laughing because Vince is struggling to rip it open? Is it possible that Evan already knows what's in the bag, and is having some strange preemptive chuckle over, "They're in for such a surprise." sort of thing?
