The Slender Man isn't in the hiking film. The only oddity is when the video apparently Matrixes out around 7:20 (the No Handlebars part) and cuts to a picture of one of the cast members. Given the use of Windows Movie Maker effects earlier it's PROBABLY intended. As a Horror fan, what interested me more were the parts where Evan, the guy who was being stalked by The Slender Man, just...randomly stares off into the woods, or starts to wander off. He's still paranoid, still looking over his shoulder, etc.

Oh, they updated the Youtube twice. The second video was an introduction to the next couple of videos, revolving around the effects of sleep on people. Evan is keeping a sleep journal while Jeff and Vince (the other two main cast members) are depriving themselves of sleep, a la A Nightmare on Elm Street.

These are build-up videos and character development videos. Good stuff.

Oh shit, a tree! /sarcasm
I don't really think they'd make their friend dress up in a suit on such a hot day. And I mean the puppet master, not the characters.

I thought he might be in the second story window at 7:28, but I think that's just the window on the other side of the house being seen through the window facing the camera.

May not be a Slendy-sighting, but man, do they ever live in a gorgeous place. We just had snow a couple of days ago. I'm purely envious!

That first video seemed awfully long... but then the series is playing itself up as being pretty honest so them apologizing for it seems to work, I suppose. I'd be interested to know if they're actually planning on building up a Slendy-presence again after all, but more subtly... or if they're legitimately done with the Slender Man and used it as a way to snag viewers? XD

Kassel, just put the stairs between you and the boiler room! Chances are that if it's not Slendy, something horrible is bound to slither, creep, stalk, or leap out of there anyways.

Sorry for the late reply; work has me in every single day!

I'm pretty sure if something came crawling out of the boiler room, I wouldn't get out of the house fast enough; it would have already murdered me D:

Ah, I didn't think of that, Dray. I hope you are wrong. I don't want to see this end. It's my Marble Hornets Substitute. However, their updating has slowed down quite a bit, so they aren't the best sub.

They've probably gotten busy. In any case, it's more likely that they're simply setting up for Evan (Wait, Evan's the paranoid one, and Vince is the beardie host, right?) and his dream log to get very strange... maybe Evan will eventually disappear on them?

I'm curious about why they introduced all of those new characters? I mean, I realize that this could also be a legitimate series where friends are just chilling out and it's not scripted and planned, but it seems to me that if you're putting a story together, you introduce a crowd of people like that for a reason. Preparation for a bunch of Slender-deaths, maybe? Or... did someone mention that they saw a bunch of people dancing around Slender Man in one of the earlier videos? I didn't see it, myself, but perhaps they're setting up to show off Slendy-minions for later on.

It'll be interesting to see where this goes, in any case! It still has my vote for the best Slendy-vlog next to MH; best Slendy-content out of all the current blogs at the present, as well, just because it has some neat potential. Smile

The lack of updates though seem to fit in really well with all the shit that's been happening to Evan. Like for example, Evan and his family being teriffied by the break-in and disapperance act by the unknown Slenderman looking person caused Evan to call off episode-shootings and shit. The time of the updates and events are just really fluid, they feel solid. No bullshit and no secrets. I guess what I'm trying say is that there's no failure in communication between the producers and viewers. I like these guys better than jay, he's to hard to follow, then again he was also being stalked and their is more then just one person in EverymanHYBRID. Marblehornets worked well because there was a lack of communication between the viewers and jay. Each style fits its own disaster but I like knowing and I hate not knowing, which is why I like EMH better then MH.

Well to each his own I guess.

But anyway, the fact that Evan was still paranoid gives me hope that it is still an on going thing. As to all the people, they are doing it to make it seem more real. Or so I think. You don't always hang out with the same two people. Even if you being stalked by an omnipresent being.

True, but if you're making a show about fitness and such, I'd have thought that you'd focus on that stuff without randomly roping your friends in. XD It's possible to not bring a camera to every friends-group outing, for example!

If you listen closely around at 7:35 you can hear children laughing, which is an old Slendy indicator. I'm guessing there are probably a few more slender-hints in here somewhere. I'm also guessing all of these locations will come back later in the series. The rusty nasty shed, the abandoned little town (maybe just one house with a bunch of sheds and other such things,) the clearing with a single large tree in the middle of it (great for impaling), all of these things would be of great use in a Slender-Man/horror based series.
