Don't think it was mentioned(?) but they definitely want audience participation in the hunt for Jeff. Their last Twitter update:

Have to head out, so I'll be posting a lengthy entry later, BUT -

for the HOUSE OF LEAVES questions - EVERYBODY has to read this!! Seriously!! It is the Lolita/Catcher in the Rye/1984 of our generation!!

@above: Ah, you mean another overhyped book I care very little about? And in the last case, a catch-all term for any technology which might be used for bad purposes?

[edit] Sorry, that's a bit confrontational.

And as for the Hunt for Jeff: ...I fail to see how the audience can help, unless Jeff starts visiting the houses of the people in the competition =/

The Jeff stalking people's homes idea is really terrifying, I got chills when I read that. Not even Jeff, what about their guy in the Slenderman costume? I mean, none of us have gotten the wristbands yet, maybe they're not even sending them... Maybe they're sending us Slenderman...

You know what?

If they did that, I would get a plane ticket. Go over to America. Find the house of at least one member of the crew, knock on the door and give them a hug for doing it. It would be the best thing a Slender ARG would have ever done.

I swear to Christ if I see Slenderman show up at my doorstep I will shit my pants and throw it at him. Just the thought and realization that I gave some strangers my address makes me feel really dumb XD

On the other hand that might be kinda cool. I'd still be like FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

I had thought something along the lines of Heybeesley - that they will use the addresses, perhaps to send some clues or further information. I then went ahead and replied to the tweet #WheresJeff, before realising they might use the twitter addresses for something similar. Before you know it, we shall all be on Mr Slenderman's shit list!

Well obviously OOG they know where Jeff is. But I'm thinking they'll play dumb and put out increasingly explicit clues until some people feed them the correct answer or something like that. Or it's just a self marketing thing to drum up interest and they'll basically disregard any input, which honestly is fine with me too.

I'm also guessing (again OOG) that Jeff doesn't have any interest in meeting up with Internet creeps. Although it's fun to think about. Just saying, if I see Slenderman outside my window, I'm grabbing a knife and going Tribe Twelve on his skinny ass Wink

I'd probably shoot a slenderman if he came around my house. Guess it's a good thing I didn't give out my address, I'd do something really stupid in the head of the moment, probably.

So, running around cussing at him blindly before finding a box full of broken stuff?

I somehow doubt that the EverymanHYBRID crew would stalk the people who volunteered to receive and, by proxy, promote their channel. Mainly because of the possibility of physical harm and/or legal troubles.

Yeah, this is what got me thinking... how can we help unless we're going to get hints of some sort? Interesting.

In all seriousness though, I'd be REALLY surprised if they did anything with our addresses besides mail us something. It's creepy and terrifying and awesome to think about, but there's a lot of risk - especially if they sent their Slenderactor. There's a pretty good chance at least one of us would panic and call the cops/stab him/shoot him in the face.

Still though, I'm hoping this is the start of the game becoming super interactive or someting.

Seems like both EverymanHYBRID and TribeTwelve are taking things from the original Something Awful forum and implementing them directly into their ARGs...

Interesting, but unoriginal IMO.

If he came to my door, i'd probably scream and jizz in my pants but then dance caramelldansen with him.

Pretty much.

[e] To be clear I do not actually think for a second anyone is coming to anyone's house.
