"Let's do the timewarp again...."

So that was an interesting little happenstance there, at the door in the beginning. The Operator (MH's Slender Man) has shown the power to negate (or steal) memories and reproject them later, cause a strange version of "flipping forward" in time, and even cause someone to walk through a door on one side that doesn't open on the other... but this weird "one thing happens, distort, do-over with a different result" is rather new. I'm not entirely sure what the source would be- some sort of psychic imprint stating, in a roundabout way, "Slendy has Jeff helpless and now he's waiting for you"? Was it a bizarre "reality overlap" showing a brief glimpse of what might have happened under different conditions? I dunno; there's a lot of ways to take this and I'd have to see more in order to formulate a solid theory. And, yes, I really want to see what's on that USB drive (or should I call it a "microchip thing"... oh, Evan, you're such a card).

Again, I'm sort of jealous I'm no longer in Jersey, and more so that I didn't give them my address (though if I had I might be just the tiniest bit creeped out by now).

So we finally know what kinda of camera they use. A Flip.

It's certainly not scary.

It's more of a love story than a horror novel. And further than that, it's not exactly a story at all, really.

The lack of "closure" or "solutions" was one of the points of the novel, too.

I agree that it's very, seriously overhyped, but that has no bearing on its literary importance. It illustrates the kind of person the Reader has evolved into during the last century or so (a multitasker in every sense, that is more involved with a story's outcome and meaning than previously), so I think it makes some sense to tie it to an ARG like this, thematically.

I really like this idea.

Personally, I prefer the psychic imprinting theory, I don't know why but it has some resonance with me. I'm not even particularly credulous to this sort of thing normally, but it feels right to me in this circumstance.

Ok i just registered because of after lurking here since around ep 19 of Marble Hornets, I just spotted something. House of Leaves wasn't the only thing referenced in the video. When they first go into Jeff's room, and his brother remarks that his alarm must have went off, then turns off his stereo...The song playing is from the XBox 360 game Alan Wake. The "rock group" in the game is called "the Old Gods of Asgard" and the song is "The Poet and the Muse".
In the game, it's a clue for Alan, the whole lyric goes like this:
"And now to see your love set free;
You will need the witches cabin key;
Find the lady of the light gone mad with the night;
Thats how you reshape destiny"

To me to had the SH siren in the last vid to this one including a game which is in many ways a spiritual sequel to SH is AMAZING.

I think we just saw a bit of time skipping. That's what happened, but they don't remember.

Given the abandoned house we saw Jeff and Evan breaking into way back when, and Jessa also missing, it's very easy to read some interesting things into those lyrics. Thanks for sharing! Guess time will tell how intentional that song was.

Personally, I'm going for a time-screw-up, or maybe a "what-if" event. Judging by what happens afterwards (when Jeff's brother answered the door, the camera starts repeating stuff), it's possible that some time-screw-age occurred, resulting in time still not being 100% A-OK afterwards.

[edit] New ideas. Firstly; what if it's just some film recorded in the past/future? So a few seconds of time featuring Jeff was pulled in from, let's say, a year in the future, but eventually went back to normal. A bit of a weird idea, but enh.

Secondly: perhaps it's showing what's really happening? As in, someone (presumably Slendy) is making everyone "look around" Jeff; so Jeff did answer the door, but the guys didn't notice it because of Slendy. Then when Slendy realised that Jeff was being filmed, he fuddled with the camera, and his Jeff from Evan's camera as well.

...that sounded a lot better in my head.

SomethingAwful posters just pointed out that the video has been "deleted by the user" from YouTube Foily!

This is the same song that was posted on CYSTW earlier. Hmm.

Yeah, I noticed that too. That's pretty weird. I don't know why they'd deliberately remove it, unless it was either a teaser or an incomplete attempt.

Obvious: Jeff is meeting the CYSTW girl to figure out how she escaped Slenderman, possibly to save Jessa.

Edit: Jeff deleted the video in an attempt to keep Vince/Evan/Alex safe. Remember, if Jeff is Slendertagged then everyone around him is a target. The most responsible thing he could do is stay as far away from friends and family as possible.
