If I look at this from a completely fantastic POV...

I believe that Slenderman is Slenderman. Period. I do not think he is 'affiliated' with anyone.

I believe that HABIT is who Evan was talking to in Ryan & tSToH. I think it was either normal or Fairmont!Evan that was doing the talking. He specifically states that he brought all these little fishes to market, so to speak, and I do believe he was presenting them to Habit. The same applies in the Slender Man video: Evan is once again talking to no one, but is specifically seeking advise and help. I think it was HABIT he was speaking to.

The Rake is the one that throws me. Nameless, faceless, but hungry and violent. I'm pretty sure the Rake is nothing more than a tool. I personally think that he's HABIT's tool - we've never seen a physical representation of HABIT. We've seen SM, however - he has a physical form, and I'm pretty sure if he wanted something destroyed(like paperwork, for example), he'd just do it himself.

The other thing I keep going back to is the Joke's Over video. Obviously, we know they found several bags filled with yuck. I have a theory on this:

I have a hard time believing that a powerful entity such as the Slenderman is going to nip off to the grocery store, pick up some garbage bags, and then fill them with gore. It's be more likely that he'd just leave corpses lying around. Further more, we see SM moving towards the bags, not AWAY from them. Which means he wasn't leaving the scene of the crime, if you will, but perhaps pointing the EMH guys TOWARDS IT.

I think SM wanted them to find it. I think he was showing it to them as a warning, not a threat.

Now, if we go by that theory, let's briefly play pretend: when they find it, what does Evan do? He cracks up. He thinks it's a proverbial riot. I think that Evan was laughing because he got duped. I think that was Fairmont!Evan laughing, because he'd just been tricked into running into his own murder scene, save this time, his two best friends are with him, and they've seen what happened.

In other words, I think F!Evan found it funny that SM had basically lured Evan, Vince, and Jeff into the scene of the carnage he'd created himself.

So, my epyleptic tree had a little epyleptic sprout.

I'm beginning to think this whole Tournament thing is to look for suitable vessels. HABIT asks for your most prized possession because he wants to know what kind of person you are. Some people will be deemed unworthy, other will make HABIT go "hey that's a headspace I'd like to dwell into!" And so on and so on across all the trials, until HABIT finds its twin rabbit souls. At that point, it will find it, install in it, and build a cross-dimensional eldritch horror tailored precisely out of the rabbit's worst fears and nightmares.

Ahem, sorry about that. Another serious theory:

The Rake is very much the opposite number to Slenderman, a creature made by a group of people on the internet with the intent to be spooky. The difference comes that one is well dressed and the other is nekkid.

I think to make one of these very similair sorts of creatures a pet and the other near god-like seems a bit lopsided to me. So perhaps there is more to the Rake than we know at the moment.

It's original story makes it very old indeed.
