I don't know how it works in reality, but typically in fiction split personalities can talk to each other in a sort of... limbo space. so far as my personal experience goes, alters are usually aware of each other after awhile. sometimes they can't talk to each other unless they physically write messages via the host body for another alter/the main personality to see later. mine all talk to each other, tho. it's like my brain is an apartment and they're all my housemates. @__@ very loud.

that is an interesting idea, tho. i know that sometimes the main personality isn't aware of their alters, at least not at first...


Raven's right. The alternate personalities are usually aware on some level of each other. Usually the host isn't until it's pointed out or diagnosed. They'll just think they've lost time. There IS a form of multiple personalities though, where the host personality is fully aware of the other personalities. It's like they're watching someone else controlling their body through their own eyes. I think with Evan, 2 of his personalities were in a conversation. I don't think Evan is aware of it as such, but that the personality doing all the talking can mimic Evan.

About 200 people were CC'd on HABIT's email. For some reason other people got the email but not the giant CC list. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones. Believe me you are NOT missing anything.

Edit: according to SomethingAwful's thread, anyway. I haven't been able to keep up with this one, it moves too fast Sad
