Now that the anon has mentioned it, I will say I think there's more to these Animal Collective references as well.

(I mean this on a purely IG level.)

I could buy that, too. (I'm easy.[1])

Some of the events from the hidden videos are things we can be pretty sure happened IG--Jeff meeting Widow Corenthal, for example, or some of the seemingly trivial outtakes from "Day in the Life"--so can we take that as at least slight evidence for "psychically intuitive" (or "receiving psychic projections") over "slowly going insane"? Not that it couldn't be both, of course.

[1] Except when it comes to time-travel theories. I don't know why.

I know I'll never see EMH the same way again.

I don't think the guys can time travel. I wonder if Corenthal is alive and well but has some sort of condition where his mind isn't right. Like with alzheimer's the persons mind isn't always in this era. They can get confused and think they're way back to when they're a teenager etc. I'm thinking that if this is the case with Corenthal, that's explain why the letters are dated with huge gaps between the years and could also explain why he talks about Jeff, Vinnie and Evan.

Reply from Jeff!

And it's rather surprising. Might need your help with this one, Hybrids:

For reference, my original e-mail:

Quote:
Hi Jeff!

I'm sure other people have e-mailed you about this already, but we've got another thing to put on the HUB... one of the forum members got another letter written by this "Doctor Corenthal." There's a transcript, and a picture of the nutcracker toy/ornament it came with, here: http://everymanhybrid.wikia.com/wiki/Corenthal_Christmas_Letter

Hopefully we'll get this into a video, or at least condensed into one wiki page, relatively soon.

The letter's kinda weird, like the other ones. I guess Maryann Corenthal was the woman you visited while you were away back in August, right?

Anyway, I hope you guys are doing okay with this first HABIT trial and everything. It's been kinda hard on some of the other rabbits, and not just from the cold.

Good luck, as always.

And Jeff's reply:

Quote:
I believe that was her name... I wanted to find his old practice or office or anything but merely found his personal address. I do think that was her. It was definitely his wife (or widow, or whatever the hell she is) and her name is definitely Corenthal. I think that's what the security guard was shouting at me during my little... incident. Smile

And that letter that you and some others have linked me: obviously, we're not forty years old or what have you, but whatever happened to that family. Christ, man. Bless them all, you know?

I expected a denial about visiting the woman, or asking how I knew about that. Was there anything in the tweets around the time that Jeff was out on his adventure mentioning visiting Maryann Corenthal? Anything that would explain how we'd know about that visit besides the morse code video?

Interesting observation, as well... during ".-" Jeff says that he thinks some friends of his might have been patients of Doctor C's at one point. In the e-mail, he points out "we're not 40, couldn't be us," which makes sense. But... there was a point where he thought that maybe they were the same people.

I think Jeff's been in a state of mild to major confusion about this stuff for a little while. (I still haven't given up on the parents thing being part of it - let's not forget, '70s Jeffrey was adopted by the Corenthals.) From what he said on the last Ustream, he reacted instinctively after his dreams of the school fire returned, and sought the place out in hopes of finding more out about Jessa's disappearance - he said he instinctively felt they were connected. Then, he instinctively thought the Corenthal letters were connected. I think it has a lot to do with what's buried in his subconscious.

I think he may have fucked up on what is IG vs. OOG because yes, he didn't question you about how you knew about Corenthal's wife. You should mention the morse code video.

That's incredibly strange. I cant remember him ever mentioning it other places.

Maybe if he only mentioned it, but didn't go into specifics you could go on to say "I wonder why she freaked out when you mentioned HABIT, though."

Or something to that effect.

That would get a "What?" Response form him I'm sure.

Better yet. Ask him why, if he knows they're not these 40 year old people, did he once think Evan and Vince could be Corenthal's patients?

Good job, Rhiannon!

Jeff did talk some about his trip down South in the last ustream, so his acknowledgment of that in his response to you might not indicate anything new about the hidden videos. It is interesting, though.

I think the "friends were patients" could just have been a conversational strategy. Maybe like the old cliche of telling a doctor that "erm, a friend of mine has a problem", or possibly it seemed like it would raise fewer red flags than saying "I ran across a cache of papers about patients with my buds' names from before they were born." If we're not sure Jeff is a reliable narrator for us, there's no reason to believe he'd present himself 100% honestly to Widow Corenthal either. Smile

Good questions! I'll shoot him a reply, see where this goes...

I don't think someone shows up with that flimsy a conversation strategy, especially when the woman could well see the boy is in his '20s and the old kids should be in their '40s.

However, and this is important, I think. We didn't see all of the encounter with Maryann Corenthal. When we cut back to it she is demanding Jeff leave the premises. I think she may have recognized him, and she may know what he is.

My reply...

Quote:
Yeah... it's really awful, seeing how happy they were, then that 1981 letter. And you're obviously not forty. Wink But did you think that maybe there could be some connection at some point? I think you said something about your friends maybe being patients of Corenthal at one point...

Do you have any idea why Mrs. Corenthal got upset when you mentioned HABIT? It's kind of a long shot, but have you tried contacting her since these TRIALSOFHABIT started up? The 1981 letter made it sound like the kid who went by Habit had died or something, but if he's still around... I don't know. There's just so much going on for you guys that's just crazy. Hang in there, we're all doing what we can to help out, even if it's just sending positive vibes or whatever.
