I kind of feel like poking the supernatural big dog, so I think I shall join you.

Also, Lost's ending made me a sad panda. Not because it was sad, but because IT DIDN'T FUCKING ANSWER ANYTHING!!!!!

*Cough*

Edit: Okay, because I was bored, I decided to post my 'Christmas Poem to HABIT' here.
Quote:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Slender Man scares me,
And so do you.
You're busy this season,
And not without reason.
You've rabbits to kill,
Or at least, you say you will.
You're running your trials
Without many a smile,
And you lack Christmas cheer
But we wish you were here.

Merry Christmas, HABIT old buddy.
Please don't kill me for this.

Forgive the question, but has anyone compiled (maybe to the wiki) the various correspondences people have had with HABIT live? Like over gchat and stuff? Just curious....

I agree with the running purple tape theory-- it always seems to mark something that has a secret. Each box was marked with tape and was holding a piece of previously secret information; the papers, the letters, etc, etc. Alex, I'm not even sure what he's hiding, but I still think there's something more there. Evan, it could have been anything from something more about Slenders, to the past, to HABIT. HABIT seems pretty likely, assuming that's around the time HABIT became active in Evan. Then again, Evan could have been inHABITed for a long time prior to this, as he's... really never acted right this entire series. He was okay for the first few episodes, but after the doll, it kind of went downhill.

Also, I think I'll draw HABIT a Christmas picture.

I don't know what it'll be yet. But imma draw it.

Sorry for double-posting. Just got caught up, and had some thoughts.

First--of videos (seen & unseen) and flashdrives: what if we put the "hidden" videos on a flash drive and gave it to them? I volunteer myself to do that, since I'm in the same general area. I just don't want to jump out and do it, in case anyone thinks it's a Bad Idea.

I also had an idea for a point of analysis. At the risk of sounding like some stodgy made-up professor from HoL, I'm wondering if we can gain any insight from looking at things in terms of Id, Ego, and Superego. This might not yield anything useful, but I thought I might as well share my ponderings.

Id: The Rake fits this, as it seems like it may be a creature of instinct. We are unaware of its motivations, and it may, in fact, have none; it may just simply do what it does. It moves like an animal, rather than a human, also representative of primal instinct.

Ego: Habit. The repetition of the name Habit could be suggestive of the assertion of an Ego. Habit had a plan of some sort, but it all seems to revolve around himself. Habit is making people play his game, for his amusement. Everyone else is just a plaything for him. He executes plans to satisfy himself, and that seems to be his main priority.

Superego: Slenderman. (Assuming that some appearances of him are "real.") This is the most tenuous, and I think stretches the definition some, but if we don't think in terms of morality as we define it, this can work. Slenderman has, no matter how unfathomable, his own goals, maybe even a sense of "right" and "wrong." In EMH, he doesn't seem to just attack and kill when he has the chance--he watches, he appears, sometimes he interacts. In at least some other Slenderman stories, he drives people to suicide. While that would be an internal response of the person to being unable to handle the circumstances, I think it could be viewed as some sort of perversion of the concept of a Superego. The Superego has to do with reward and punishment; death by suicide could be quite a strict punishment.

So yeah...all that Freudian analysis is probably quite useless. Hopefully someone else finds it interesting, though.

Just saying, but...

Why does it seem like people are ruling out a ver likely, if not fully formed, theory?

So the boys said such about not being the Corenthal kids, means nothing. They still could be. With them sharing names with the Kids this is actually one of the most likely theories.

Plus it would than mean Evan isn't possessed, just going back to old habits, if you excuse the pun.

Nah, that's no sonnet. It's not iambic pentameter, and it's all rhyming couplets instead of abab-whatever.
Still a nice poem though, and I hope HABIT responds to it.

Waaaay back before "Damsel" came out, I e-mailed back and forth with Jeff and convinced him that the hidden videos did exist, and they just couldn't see them. I think the relevant e-mails from Jeff are on the wiki. But anyway, the whole reason they busted Damsel out was because Jeff got the idea that if they sat down with someone who could see the hidden videos, they might be able to see them too. So they've got something planned there already.

I'm not sure it's been ruled out. If they are the same kids, physically/mentally/spiritually/whatever-ly, there would have to be some kind of time travel and/or stasis involved. The Corenthal kids and the EMH kids are definitely connected, no doubt about that, it's just a question of how. But I think that the idea that they're the same definitely has potential.

I like the idea there with the three as psyche-aspects. I don't know a huge amount amount id-ego-superego, but it's a theory I've never heard that would at least be very interesting.

Also, on the topic off showing them the videos, I have a new theory.

They got Damsel out about two weeks ago. I know other things have been going on, but if that's what they were planning I'm sure they've had 10 minutes in there somewhere to sit down with her and watch the hidden videos. So, three possibilities:

A. They haven't tried it yet. Works because of college finals (did they establish they were in college? I can't recall) and also narrative convenience to keep the story on pace.

B. Damsel has shown them the videos, but they're not talking about it until they decide their next course of action.

C. Damsel tried to show them the videos; she saw the video; they saw and heard a black screen. Think about it, if they're not supposed to see the hidden videos I would think that would be an additional level of "encryption" the originator (Slenderman, HABIT, ?) could use. Since they can't see the strange bits of the normal videos either, that gives me the impression that the video just goes black in those parts.

I just don't think the solution to the hidden videos would be that easy. Besides, given the plot pacing, there's probably more hidden videos coming.
