Also, on the topic off showing them the videos, I have a new theory.

They got Damsel out about two weeks ago. I know other things have been going on, but if that's what they were planning I'm sure they've had 10 minutes in there somewhere to sit down with her and watch the hidden videos. So, three possibilities:

A. They haven't tried it yet. Works because of college finals (did they establish they were in college? I can't recall) and also narrative convenience to keep the story on pace.

B. Damsel has shown them the videos, but they're not talking about it until they decide their next course of action.

C. Damsel tried to show them the videos; she saw the video; they saw and heard a black screen. Think about it, if they're not supposed to see the hidden videos I would think that would be an additional level of "encryption" the originator (Slenderman, HABIT, ?) could use. Since they can't see the strange bits of the normal videos either, that gives me the impression that the video just goes black in those parts.

I just don't think the solution to the hidden videos would be that easy. Besides, given the plot pacing, there's probably more hidden videos coming.

I think they haven't seen them yet. They know we've been bothering them about those videos for months, I very much doubt they'd watch them and not say anything. And if they tried to watch them and still couldn't see them, we'd probably have heard something, at least from Damsel.

In my e-mails with Jeff, he's the one who suggested that watching the videos with someone would help. It seemed like they had that as a planned plot point, they just needed someone to trigger it. My e-mails just happened to be that trigger.

You're running your trials
Without many a smile,
And you lack Christmas cheer
But we wish you were here.

Merry Christmas, HABIT old buddy.
Please don't kill me for this.

. . .

did you just write HABIT a christmas sonnet?

*slow clap* well done.
Nah, that's no sonnet. It's not iambic pentameter, and it's all rhyming couplets instead of abab-whatever.
Still a nice poem though, and I hope HABIT responds to it.

It actually ignores meter altogether after the first few lines in favor of the "if it rhymes, it's poetry" school of thought. It's not even close to a sonnet.

-__- i know. we've been talking about sonnets in brit lit for the past month, so it's on my mind all the fucking time. *laughs* was joking, but i forget that text doesn't distinguish between deadpan and seriousness.

Just saying, but...

Why does it seem like people are ruling out a ver likely, if not fully formed, theory?

So the boys said such about not being the Corenthal kids, means nothing. They still could be. With them sharing names with the Kids this is actually one of the most likely theories.

Plus it would than mean Evan isn't possessed, just going back to old habits, if you excuse the pun.

I'm not sure it's been ruled out. If they are the same kids, physically/mentally/spiritually/whatever-ly, there would have to be some kind of time travel and/or stasis involved. The Corenthal kids and the EMH kids are definitely connected, no doubt about that, it's just a question of how. But I think that the idea that they're the same definitely has potential.

Well, time travel does have to be involved somehow, I think... Corenthal had "Who Could Win a Rabbit?" stuck in his head in the past, if i remember correctly.

Yeah, I couldn't think of anything that would rhyme with kill and yet allow it to make sense. But meh.

He hasn't replies to it yet, but I'm kind of hoping he does.

Anybody else picturing HABIT in an old-timey green celluloid visor and garters on his sleeves, hunched over a table buried in scraps of paper, tallying up our votes on an adding machine?

Well, I am now. And because I'm of the opinion that HABIT is in Evan's head right now... yeah. Suffice to say, it's freaking adorable.

Good points on viewing the videos. We can probably just wait and see how this plays out. Since Damsel has seen the videos, either she can show the videos to them and it's settled, or she can't, and we can probably assume that they will be unable to see the videos at all, or until some key event occurs.

...I think I just got myself eliminated because I overslept and didn't get my vote in on time.

Now I'm just picturing the Senses Taker from Phantom Tollbooth.

Not sure if want?

You too? This whole mythology has always slightly reminded me of The Phantom Tollbooth. Maybe just because of our friend the Terrible Trivium. And the link to the Senses Taker here makes sense, since it seems HABIT is trying to whittle away at our humanity....

Yes, Terrible Trivium is at least visually reminiscence of our own faceless friend; though I can't quite picture Slendy telling me that there are "so many doodles to doodle". Wink He does seem to show up pointlessly and spur people to meaningless action, though. Think about it; how many things to the Slendy-stalked people do that have absolutely no visible effect? XD

As for Senses Taker/Habit, yes they definitely have similar goals...

Hmmm, I wonder what the makes the Rake?

Hahaha a quick Google search revealed:
