Just leaving this theory here, based on last night's stuff.

"The Rake is a science experiment gone wrong."

"Dr Corenthal was experimenting on the children and Linnie, being the only child alive, turned into The Rake."

Kamen is that the stuff Jeff was talking about last night? (Damn me and my need to sleep!) Was there anything else worth discussing? Anything worth adding to the wiki?

Context, damn you, CONTEXT!!! I am already totally emo that I've missed Jeff in the chat twice. What was said that leads to these theories?

I was there, but I had to leave early on... did anyone make a chat log, or at least make note of any important information Jeff gave? Or if not, doesn't lethargic log chats?

Fuck man. I thought I didn't miss anything in the 2-3 days I didn't have internet, and I miss Jeff in the Angora chat again Sad

fiiiiiiine gawsh. Just before he left, Jeff suddenly said he remembered a song and music video he saw a while back and asked us to help him find it.. so five minutes later he finds it and links it to us, then leaves.. so, of course, we start overanalyzing it and it lead me to that theory. This was the video:

Huh. Well, that was... weird. Did he specifically say that it was that fan-made music video? If so, that's... again, weird. I don't quite know what to make of it.

I think the lyrics leave a bigger clue than the video, most notably these lines

Quote:
All of the day
I felt his presence near me
I know they won't believe me, but
I've got favorite memories
I am saved, I am saved

Those lyrics would make it seem like SM is a benevolent figure though, at least that is my interpretation of it

Slendy hasn't been very kind to them throughout his time in the series though.
But it could be a lesser of the two evils sort of scenario.
Though, Slendy did more or less save Fairmount Vincent.

no, just that he remembered seeing it a while ago and wanted to hear it.

I've seen those clips before, though. It's from the WW2 era, with Germans (or Soviets) doing experiments, trying to make a dog's head live without it's body. (according to the video, it worked, but the dog looks in extreme pain).

Somewhat related:
A theory that I kinda have been tinkering about, with regard to Slenders and Dr. Corenthal connection, is that Dr. Corenthal is a total unreliable narrator and his "care" for the kids amounted to physical and psychological experiments (the theory of the rake being an experiment gone wrong is an interesting addition). Slendy is not benevolent, but rather a curious onlooker mimicking human behavior (perhaps present before or after the experiments began), and thus mimics the Corenthal's experimental fervor. Thus, Slenderman in its current form represents a twisted mirror image of an inhumane humanity. Also if experimentation is based on repeatability this could go into explaining the "past incarnations" of the children as other runs of Slenderman's experiments, and the reality warping as shifting of variables.

/trees

C'mon everyone, Slenderman just wants to find the formula for love...

/sarcasm
