I think the same. I think he's saying that he's doing it because he loves Jessa and because Damsel was the last person to see her, it's suspicious that Jessa has disappeared.

I think she's going to be alive for a while, since it sounds like she's in psych custody. I don't think the cops can detain somebody just for being a person of interest, can they? And since (I think) you can only be involuntarily committed if you're judged to be an immediate threat to yourself or to others, she may well be on suicide watch for a while. The queued posts are probably because she knows she'll be gone for however long the evaluation period is going to be.

Also very true. With her taking pictures of the guys and posting them up on her site without them knowing about it until they're told about it, I think I'd be the same as Jeff. Girlfriend gets a new friend who takes sneaky pics of you and your friends, girlfriend goes missing after going to see this stalker friend.....dun dun dun..........suspicion aroused.

I'm a big enough man to admit my Jeff/Damsel theory appears to have been a red herring. Oh well, back to the imminent "Slender-Man killed my girlfriend! BLAGGABLAGGABOO!" freak-out.

I sure hope so. The misdirection and nascent conflict have been sown thickly. It's time for a payoff. Move the story forward, perhaps give us a puzzle to, uh, puzzle over.

Mind, I think that our present state of confusion with insane theories flowing freely and such is deliberately engineered by the EMH crew. They've shown they are quite willing to manipulate the metagame, to their advantage.

After all, we certainly exhibit the paranoia[1] and confusion that, IG, we should feel as victims of the Slenderman infection. Especially with the shifting background and disappearing/reappearing videos.

[1] I've watched the two bunnies two cups video[2] in the new channel braced all the while for distortion and bunny!rake. EMH and MH may have forever ruined my ability to watch home video. Someone will be showing me clips from their vacation or something and I'll keep looking and the background and saying things like "Wait! Go back! See that three. See that white bit? Oh God. He's back. You need to pack a month's rations, a gun and a camera and start running. Stop only when you hit ocean."

Man, speaking of Dray, I'm glad she put up that post mentioning that EMH/TT moved here! I'd been wondering why it was so dead and was starting to believe that I was having browser troubles- my usual link took me to the archived MH page.

Anyway. I'm not able to find specific New Jersey statutes, but I don't believe the police would be able to hold Damsel for more than 72 hours without probable cause (assuming she's over the age of majority, which is likely the case). However, would this leave her vulnerable to the predations of a certain well-dressed faceless creature or a certain pale-skinned crawler? If Slender Man has proven one thing, it's that he knows how to get around incognito, and this Rake is a complete unknown.
