So, in the last 24 hours have generated ten forum pages. ... I'm sure it might end up on the wiki, but for those of us who might not wanted to read through all 10 pages, here are links to two videos that have surfaced today:

Welcome to the Ark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqWGOF6Y2TA

and SlenderMan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNRk-Du9C9s

There is some discussion as to whether these videos are cannon within EMH, or entries into a contest called Synthetic Cinema's Monster Mash-Up.

The two figures in the water in Welcome To The Ark are Vince and Evan. Which probably means something.

Well, if it's OOG, I think it's kind of in poor taste to use characters and the exact elements from the ARG for the competition. I mean, if I could fantasty PM it, I would have done something as the EMH group submitting something for the contest with fake slendy(with maybe something ARG relevent in the background).

I understand that doing it from different accounts from the EMH channel might give them a clear...but the nature of the game is going to make us jump on this sort of thing and have 10 pages of speculation as to if this was OOG or not.

lets avoid that.

In regards to the facebook accounts, I dont know how many of you were here or remember when Joseph had to post here on unforum concerning his and Troys facebooks being abused by over zealous fans. I do, as well as the accompanying shame felt by the community. Lets avoid that also, ey armchair detectives?

I was going to post my theories but I found samus' to quite excellent

Stay premium gentlemen

Hey, I've been following this for a while, and I'm joining now I actually feel like I've got an idea what's going on. Those videos in the contest were...interesting, but the progression and filming of them were so different to the videos we see normally (even the secret videos) that I doubt they're worthwhile. They are definitely catered to the contest itself, with self-contained stories (I could pick up the Slender man one without any prior knowledge, and be creeped out; in fact, I'd probably be more creeped out if I hadn't watched the rest of the series) and far more fastpaced editing (distortion and displaced cuts out the arse). I also swear I saw a TribeTwelve reference in one, with that lightning bolt; the framing of the shot felt very familiar. They seem...a lot messier than the actual videos, in my opinion, and if they were IG, I reckon they'd take away from the atmosphere of it.

That said? I could be wrong, but there's no point arguing about it; we've all got the same information, so it's all just opinion.

EDIT: Fun fact: Check out who else found those two videos.

CONSIDERING THINGS.

I saw page 224 last night, but my girl is back from vacation, so I waited till today and have not yet watched the videos in full, so please be nice, BUT -

Due to my self-written and still unpublished BIG RULEBOOK OF SLENDERFICTION (a how-to for dummies and experts), a few things HAVE to be taken into account, I quote from my book:

"Rule #43: "Oh shiwtz, where's my endgame?"

- It may appear to you that it is a good idea to prepare videos in advance. Indeed, this is something you should do, as those videos may be shown in one or two months time -but let's be serious, who knows where you'll be in one or two months time? Thus, pre-shooting the videos earlier and then releasing them later is a good thing: you can finish them, you can edit and produce them to become exactly what you want them to be, without your viewers having to wait half a decade for them.
However, whatever you do, never post the videos on the internet - not in private, not in "unlisted", not on other accounts and even not on other sites. Your fans will be nosy and curious, and will look up whatever stuff they can find. So if you decide to produce your endgame video a year in advance, make sure nobody sees it beforehand, else you are screwed big time.

- Rule #21: "unrelated IG madness"

As a creator, you have various means to further release your content - youtube, vimeo, twitter, facebook, myspace etc. The internet is big, and so's your fanbase. So keep one thing in mind: you can release in-game content wherever you want, as long as you release it at your desired in-game-continuity-time (else it might be found too early).
However, make sure that your fans are able to properly realize that it is in-game.
"

I'll reserve final judgement after the guys said something though. The release date is... weird to say the most.
HOWEVER; if this is OOG, and a mistake, the videos should have been pulled from yt already.

And, on to Brooklyn.

EDIT: I watched both videos. My thoughts -

SLENDER-MAN was just done for fun. Maybe the start of things, a short they did beforehand. Doesn't fit into the timeline and does include bits from other videos.

WELCOME TO THE ARK... what! the! fuck!
I have no idea what this is!! 0!! It looks like one of the invisible videos, and incorporates various stuff we have seen before, as well as stuff that might have been done earlier.
ONE IMPORTANT NOTICE - purple tape. The purple tape did indicate something we were meant to find IRL (boxes) and would indicate a reality-shit in the videos. This could mean a.) we are meant to find this b.) where this happens is the same place where Evan is walking in circles, where Alex and Jeff stand in the background and where the thing in the ustream was pulled out of the room.

Maybe both were done before EMH were started, or are glimpses of what to come. The bits edited in from previous videos are an indication of this. One way or another - they are 100% NOT leaked endgames. Why? They may incorporate things we saw earlier, but they were posted to a contest. If they would win it, their endgames would be ruined. This isn't "Tihihi Hybrids'll never find it!", this is "Oh, we won, shit, now our series is fucked up."

Also, note the difference between the two videos. The Slenderman-one seems a lot more amateurish than the other one, which is frightening in every single way, also due to its low-budget-sfx realism.

EDIT 2: FUKING HELL; I know what those are!!! And now we go full circle:

The previous invisible videos had the same "stream of consciousness-thing" going on, which I interpreted as their memories, remember?

The first video is not at all like this. In fact, it's just like a video in-game Jeff&Vince might do that they consider to be cool, up to the writing near the end.

BUT the second one includes bits from both the videos, the EMH videos and the invisible stuff, in a COMPLETELY stream-of-conscious way. We see Vince (who's been "offed" in the other video) thinking, cut to a flashback of Evan offing him in the other video. What is going on?
Gentlemen - this is a nightmare.
What we see here might be a dream of whoever holds the camera. The thing doesn't make any sense, it's surreal to say the least and is a mix of things we've seen before in the hidden videos, real and unreal, IG-OOG and IG-IG-stuff. There are only two things that can be it: an OOG-entry where they fooled around, or an IG nightmare.

EDIT3: (the ending of WttA = Ustream scene of "somebody" being dragged from the room - also notice that WttA starts with a scene from another invisible video??)

So, my verdict: WttA = IG-invisible vid, S-M = in-game-OOG-vid. Both would have been found by us in any case, if alone due to their Slender-ish titles, guys know this.

FB - we shouldn't look into their FB, EXCEPT if they status-update it with obviously IG-stuff (New video from Brooklyn tonight, HYBRIDS etc.).

Maybe we need a fork in the discussion?

Let's assume the PMs decide not to break character and confirm whether or not the two new videos are IG. If that happens, then every future video/tweet/whatever will have one group trying to place it in the context of the apocalypse-bunker scenario and another group either trying to ignore that or inciting another ten pages of bickering.

To avoid that, we might start two fresh threads, something like "EverymanHYBRID: Endgame Revealed" and "EverymanHYBRID: Endgame Unknown". That would at least keep the canon-or-not conflicts minimized, whereas it seems they're inevitable if we stick to a singe thread (and the PMs keep schtum).

Thoughts?

As I said before in my long post, there's a 98% chance this is NOT endgame, opposed to a 2% chance this is endgame, due to the names of the videos, their release time, the feedback we've gotten by the guys ("You HYBRIDS never cease to amaze me when it comes to finding stuff!") and and their inner logic (one containing text a la "Slushpops and Surprises", the other being VERY similar & using bits of the invisible videos). So there. No need for new threads to discuss this.

As I said before - details and logic are very important here. Even if they are OOG, the chance they are IG endgame is MINIMAL. Smile

Personally I think an exception should be made to let them post in here or tell one of us whether that footage is IG or OOG. Personally I think it's OOG. They're entering a contest, nothing more, it's not some wacky way of trying to get everyone to start speculating again. If it were IG they'd post it on the EMH channel or Alex would post something, THESE vids are on their PERSONAL youtube accounts. How hard is it to grasp? If they wanted their personal YT accounts found they'd have stated them long ago.
On another note I think the FB accounts should be left well alone, it'll only cause the PM's to get pissed off and give it all up if everyone keeps stalking them.

Jeff has an old blog on Blogspot that goes back to 2008. Granted, you can backdate things, but that's an awful lot of unrelated writing for one fictional ARG character. The only mention of anything EMH-ish is an entry at the end of May where he mentions looking for abandoned places for an "internet series".

Speaking of "unrelated writing", he's also got a very currently updated Twitter feed where noting about the EMH universe is mentioned. He's talking about he and Jessa's (yes, she's real, too) Halloween costumes on Oct 2nd when IG he's had no contact with her since sometime in August, I think?

That, plus facebook profiles with plenty of OOG friends proves to me that Jeff, Vince, and Evan are all real NJ college students who just happen to be making an ARG with themselves as characters. Building THAT much of an internet presence for some fictional guys would be way too much effort for something that isn't very useful game-wise anyway.

solestri, posting all this is a bit stalkerish, innit?? Wink

@ Didz: Well... that's the only thing that throws me off, but it is EMH-universe related... Read my above post considering why this HAD to be found by us - and why I think SM is a "fake" whilst WttA is "real".

I'd say we should wait. We asked them if they see the vids, maybe drop Alex a line if he can access the videos.

We don't need them to post here. Worst case, one of them should ask a third party to drop one of us a PM that this is OOG, if it is.
If that doesn't happen, then it's IG to me. Laughing Cool
