personal issues or no personal issues, this -

"Every single post you've made about it has been exactly the same way... so stop being a hypocrite and just shut up about it."

- is just plain fucking rude. I think you owe Karuvitomsk an apology.

We all have debated, and thought, and contributed to this story, you dont get to tell someone to shut up. That is unacceptable.

Anyone else think this might reek of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sockpuppet_(Internet)

So we can probably confirm that the Rake is somehow part of this.

Where were they, that place where they found the body and possibly sighted the Rake?

Did anyone else think it might have been Fairmount?

That was at Lambertville High School, which they'd initially assumed to be the Land of Ashen Waste.

Haha! Laughing

Nah, no connection to Karuvitomsk, just thought that the comment was a little combative - tempers get a little heated. fair enough... that over stepped the mark a little, IMO.

Brooklyn is an interesting one. Beyond the fire, devastating as it was, there is very little connection to the main story that i can see. As someone pointed out a little while back, it is unclear what it is that is making the EMH crew go there - what info do they have (IG) that is making them think this is the Ashen Wasteland, beyond the newspaper headline?

I'm not sure why we're getting so heated over it. It's just conjecture, no need to start mud-flinging one way or the other. For once we've actually got some discussion going that doesn't involve completely insane theories, which is an excellent change of pace. Let's all just take a breath and relax. We're all on the same side here.

Hell, now they seem to be traveling to wherever there's been a big fire.

They could be traveling the country for months, dammit.

WE HAVE ALL BEEN SUCKERED INTO FUNDING THEIR COLLEGE ROAD TRIP!

But seriously, why New York of all places? There's been fires all over the place. Why not freaking Chicago?

If the series ends in Chicago, I will blow my top.

Purple Tape

Guys, I notice some of you are making a lot of speculation about the purple tape. Someone mentioned how it seemed to only be used in the "memory" sections, or something.

But I noticed that the tape appears in some fairly casual scenarios. Take for instance, episode 5 where they talk about excise machines. They covered up the brand logos (for obvious legal reasons) on the exercise machines. And with what? You guessed it. Purple tape.

Then it also appears in the sleep experiment video, but that's the first time I remember it being a weirder, out of place use. By whoeverthefuck put up those pictures.

Just thought I'd point this out.

That place in New York is specifically nicknamed 'The Land of Ashen Waste' by the locals.

I think IG they're just running out of leads and just seem to be looking for anything close by that the postcard might be referring to.

OOG, I think New York's just the closest location with a major famous fire. It's not as far from Jersey as Chicago or any of the other speculative locations.

Truly?

Mind = Blown.

Well then.

So what do you suppose they'll find?

Which is more likely do you suppose, that they'll find something Slender Man related or Rake related?

It'd be nice if we were clued in on what the note contained that they found on the girls body in "Cops Checked, No Body".

But my guess is we are going to see the Rake once more, and probably some extra confrontation. That or some sort of note/box/etc. to point them in the next direction. I mean hell, aside from finding Jessa we actually really have no fucking clue what's going on.

It seems to me like the connection to the Brooklyn fire is pretty tenuous, in that it's just the single article title that refers to an "ashen wasteland". But I hope they find something exciting.

Fun fact, in the original Rake creepy pasta, he was originally sighted in Rural New York.

Well, I mean original as in, when he was first created. The first established sighting of him was in Rural New York.
