...same initials as "Slender Man" but I ...

rofl @ Greenfern: Stephenie Meyer is the Slender Man

... that explains so much about Twilight. The stalking, creepily watching people sleep, etc.

Steph is jealous that the HYBRIDS are better at telling a story than she is.

Sidebar: Anybody remember when people went looking for Slenderman on Twitter last year and they found this poor woman named Susan Lenderman who tweeted as @slenderman? Dude, that was hilarious.

You've got to be kidding me. That's like Pen Island's website.

Holy shit. Have they always had that picture of their dream drawings been in that high definition? O_O That bottom picture...how did I never notice it before?

On a side note, was browsing the original SA thread and noticed this. Check out the police blotter about 1/3 of the way down the page. Obviously not related, but saw a certain name mentioned and my heart skipped a beat....

A bit off topic again, but it's pretty funny that Animal Collective is trending now on Twitter as it's one of the most talked about and referenced musicians on the thread, haha. It just made me chuckle a little.

Yeah - it's pretty funny that both Animal Collective and Deerhunter have ben around for ages, but only now seem to garner a bigger following, after a couple of albums.
That is especially interesting if you know how big labels nowadays work (which is: "trying to make the first single of a star hit #1, then try to get his LP to hit #1, with him being abandoned a year later")

MOVED:
Regarding the theme and the music, I... well, I listened all day to Deerhunter again.

For those who don't know who Deerhunter are, check out their Wiki. They are the most interesting band when it comes to lyrics and actual backstory (just for an example, the singer suffers from a genetic defect and had to spend almost his entire age of 16 in a hospital).

Anyways, I wondered why the EMH crew didn't use these guys as of now. Their lyrics are very close to what is going on right now. Dr. Glass, Hazel St., Helicopter, Agoraphobia...

The Fluorescent Grey EP especially...

YouTube: Link

Maybe it's just the link to a traumatized childhood/being stalked by a weird kind of doom that reminded me, but I'd be damned if they'll not turn up in one of the future videos. There are so many references to dying, trauma, children being taken away to some unknown destiny (their album Cryptograms ends with a kid singing "I was arranged to leave on that day" and a voice answering "Was not seen again").

Shit is as close as a soundtrack as anything could be. Maybe that's why the guys din't use it as of yet?

Just my two cents...

DOH! Soooo sorry! I often check the forum at work, and many pics and links are blocked, and missed it.

I will do the honors myself:

So, going back to the slendy and the Rake relationship. What if the Rake is more of Slendy's pet? I was thinking of hellraiser when it made me think of that. Whether or not the Rake is a transformed, mutated human or whether it is just a beast I've no idea.

I actually thought about this too, Didz. I was thinking of the Gentlemen from Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (yeah, so what?), who are mysteriously Slender-esque and are accompanied by slavering man-beast-servants.

I'm fairly certain that I'm grasping at straws here, but the all capitalized "EVAN" from the document got me thinking. Why would they do that in a medical record? Seemed rather odd. Then I noticed something that's most likely irrelevant.

EVAN
EV-AN
EV-erym-AN

Also, Harley(our boston in the "Opening It Up" vid) is being a pain at night. The Rake better not have found us or I'll be pissed. At least I have my sweet knife, lol.
