I say, time permitting, check B first, then go to A.

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot what unfiction was for! She's so hawt! I think it's time travel so give me twenty dollars.

Never thought I'd say SA is better.

I'm new here but have been following MH and EMH.

I'm not great with coordinates either, but these are the decimal values that I got: 40.308, -74.68 which lead just south of where I think you parked (your plot point B right?)

Maybe I did it wrong, but did you search thoroughly around there?

Then leave.

It depends on which map you're talking about. I had a pretty monstrous post a page or two back, summarizing my whole trip/exploration. On that map, I believe I had marked my parking space as "B". I sort of checked out that area, but not in great detail since it seemed so far from the coordinates.

If you're referring to my map I just posted a few posts ago, then no, that's not where I parked. I explored the above area very thoroughly... though obviously not thoroughly enough! Razz

Just to get the info out there. Smile

Beat me to it.
Kinda funny, but as long as I've been into Slendy-based stories, I've been wishing someone would reference House of Leaves.
Now that I've seen it done, it seems really obvious and slightly tacky.

It was the map you posted in your large post about your journey that I was referring to.

I'm just all confused.

The coordinates they gave us: N 40 18.310, W 74.41.097 Converts to N40 18 18, W74 41 05 in DMS and in decimal degrees its 40.305,-74.68.

But even though the original data converts correctly to that DMS and DD, they plot to different points on the map? At least in google maps .

The GPS coordinates plot to the exact same spot as the DMS, but the decimal degree is a little further up…even though it's converted from the exact same data. How?

(this is where I got the conversions: http://boulter.com/gps/?c=40+18.310%2C-74+41.097#40%2018.310%2C-74%2041.097)

I know I'm a little late on the coordinates discussion, but it's driving me crazy.

I think that I need to pick up and read me some House of Leaves some time soon. I totally would have missed that connection!

If you like Marble Hornets, you might cream yourself reading House of Leaves.
If you can pick it up that is. Really, it's a fucking huge book.
My copy was given by a distant relative... all falling apart and with pages bookmarked with colored paperclips. Really enhanced the effect.

If I find one I'll be sure to scrawl notes in the sides that aren't scrawled on already. Razz

I've heard many times that it was good from this crowd. I just haven't even tried to stop by a bookstore to see if they carry it (which I worry that they won't... is it relatively popular or should I just try to buy it online?)

It's relatively popular, you should be able to find it in just about any Barnes and Nobles.

Oh weird, you're right, that's awfully close to where I parked. I hope there's nothing hidden there... that's right along a curve in the road, and there's no shoulder or sidewalk or curb or anything. Mighty dangerous for pedestrians along the road.

I'm leaning towards the updated DMS information you posted above. Is everyone willing to wait until the end of the month? That's the next time I can head up.

I am happy to wait and, in fact, and happy you would even consider making the trip once more.

I think we need to stop for a second and ask the question; Who is delivering these notes?

I'd be fine with waiting! You'd make it there faster than I would, given you're at least in the same country! ;P

Yeah, seems like we have a TTA-alike who's trying to guide things forward.

Personally, I thought the book wasn't good at all. I mean, I read A LOT. Maybe too much, but I digress.

My biggest complaint was the HUMONGOUS FOOTNOTES. Kind of got stupid when you would have to read the footnotes for seven pages, just so you could understand the story you had to flip back to to continue.

Just throwing out my thoughts, hate or don't.
