Hmmm...now don't go batcrazy on me when i tell you these but I'm just shotting from the hip here...

1.In EMH we have Evan,Vince,Jeff,Alex (The four main characters) =
In WOO we have Dorothy and then the Scarecrow,Lion,Tin Man.

2.Tin Man = Jeff (he needs a heart)
Lion = Vince (Strong physically but is cowardly)
Scarecrow = Evan (has no brain to defend himself,just goes in guns a swinging)

3.Ark = Oz

4.Slenderman = Witch

I wanna see more, but that's all for now.

If anything, Alex needs a heart (for his lack of empathy to Jeff for Jessa going missing) and is thus the Tin Man roll, while Jeff would be more of a Dorothy figure?

I'm not sure if these are connections the EMH crew would want use to make, or if we're just grasping at straws and misinterpreting coincidence.

Really, they're probably all coincidences, seeing as how there haven't been any real Oz overtones anywhere in the series. The only book that's been referenced at all is House of Leaves, and there aren't even any particular parallels there. So, yeah, we're just grasping at this point.

the wizard of oz idea is pretty cool! i would admit surprise if the emh guys had worked it in, but it would be neat. not to be pessemistic or anything though, but people also said the wizard of oz was written as a political statement about currency when america was trying to decide between silver, gold, and the dollar. so as awesome as the wizard of oz theory is (and how well it fits) i kinda doubt it.

The trouble with stuff like The Wizard of Oz connection is that characters like those tend to become archetypes for all sorts of metaphorical meanings and thus it's very hard to find any random group of character in a story that doesn't fit the description to some extent.

Not meaning to bash, but we shouldn't overthink every tiny thing they say or do - considering they've been kinda blatant, if cryptic, with their hints, at least until now.
