Hey, guys, just thought of something. The "[Continue?]", it's in brackets. Another thing that was in bracket's? From Slushpops and Surprises: "[ENTER THE TRAGIC HERO AND HIS UNATTAINABLE COMPANION.]"

Now, admittedly, I have no clue what this connection could mean, but, just wanted to point out that there might be *some* connection... and, I don't remember if we ever figured out what the [ENTER...COMPANION] thing even meant

Has anyone ever considered that the "TRAGIC HERO AND HIS UNATTAINABLE COMPANION" is Jeff/Jessa. It always seemed kind of obvious to me.

Jeff is the tragic hero -- he clearly means best, but a flaw in his judgement will lead to his downfall. Jessa has definitely proven to be unattainable, as she's been missing for the past 10 episodes and the Hybrids are slowly giving up their search.

Jeff has a brother, though...You'd think that a brother would mean a family. For that matter, weren't there Twitter messages about his folks, when he went on his sabbatical?

The "no parents" things was a joke about one of the Slendervlog conventions, but the Last Thursdayism that'd be necessary for something like eternal recurrance would also allow for two parentless people to be siblings--they are brothers because they've been designated by The Powers That Be as brothers. Note that I'm not suggesting this is something that even might have happened in game, as it's pretty ridiculous on its face; I'm just providing clarification.

The tweets about his parents sounded familiar, but I'm not seeing anything on Twitter. I did find this, though:

Jeff wrote:
I'm not playing someone's game. Let's break the rules and follow a loop-hole. Something he didn't intend for me to find.

Now, I don't want to come off as if I'm buying into the Eternal Recurrence theory, because I'm not. I would personally find it more satisfying than time-traveling Hybrid toddlers, but personal prejudices don't really have any evidential weight. This is all based on a very presumptuous reading of circumstantial evidence at this point.

That said, the above-quoted tweet from Jeff would be compatible with a scenario in which the Hybrids were, let's say, characters in a game that was being played over and over again across time. (Anybody read The Invisibles?) One of the characters (Dr. Corenthal?) managed to break out of the last cycle of the game and gave Jeff a clue to help him and the other Hybrids break their roles and finally end the game.

I always kind of thought that the "unattainable companion" referred to someone who Slender Man could somehow not get to ("attain"). I don't know for sure who that would be referencing, though.

Also, the logo on that bag is ringing a bell somewhere. I think it's a Pennsylvania college sports team... maybe Penn State or University of Pittsburgh?

Penn State Nittany Lions. It's a mountain lion.

Ah ha, you're right. Thank you. You saved me a bunch of pulled hair there. Smile

Just to plant an epileptic tree here - what if the time travel happened because Slendy, in his protectiveness/(in my opinion far more likely) possessiveness of Vince, did it to get him out of reach of something that was threatening them? Something that couldn't be dealt with with a simple evisceration? Something, like, I dunno - the Rake?

Also, the paw prints on the bag are really generic - they get used for a lot of different mascots (especially for high schools - my old high school, and our biggest rival, both used that same paw print theme)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKprch2ywJY&feature=player_embedded - This music video is...unsettling.

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BCD8B084D1E8CA5A - Here's my work in progress.

EDIT 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JEh5-PumRs&feature=player_embedded - She linked a project here, not a music video. Interesting setting.

EDIT 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tb4TeADqjQ&feature=player_embedded - Dog? I dunno. "Obviously not me. Hehe. Just...fitting."

Wow...that video from Eisley is...REALLY topical for Slenderman discussions so far, both from the standpoint of EverymanHYBRID and Marble Hornets (Masky for Marble Hornets). I noticed a theme. Touching.

That HASBITME and such Twitter message has stuck with me as of late.

In the 'Welcome to the Ark' video, both Jeff and Vince were wounded. No one really knows the cause. ...What if they were bitten, and somehow that put them under some kind of sway? Jeff was the only one acting oddly, but perhaps we didn't see quite enough Vince to know?

I say this because it seems some people become a bit odd after being touched by Slenderman. Using MH as an example again, the masked people. I believe they've been touched by SM...and now seem under some sort of thrall.

In the WttA video, Jeff was left back in the darkness where something could have gotten him...and then immediately came out of the shadows and tried to pull them into it.

Might be grasping at straws, but it seemed odd to me.

That song was also playing in the car in Cops Checked, No Body, I believe.

...Again, in response to Sol. I talked to Volcanic about her song analyzing and proposed something about Damsel.

In the MCR song she listed, Famous Last Words...one of the lines is 'nothing you can say can stop me going home'. In 'Alone Down There', he says repeatedly that 'I don't want you to be alone down there'.

What if Damsel knows she's going to die? What if that song means she knows that Jessa is already dead and doesn't want her to be 'alone down there'?

Edit: Meant to point out that 'home' doesn't have to be her actual home. It could simply be whatever comes after death. That makes that make a bit more sense.

See I've been wondering if that was implying Evan had actually attacked them. You see the flash to the attack from the Slender Man video and maybe they were trying to free him from whatever was affecting him. It been real hard to try to piece the bit together from the deleted ones.

That's actually a really good point, with the Damsel song lyrics. Hmm.

Also; once I've gone through all of Damsel's links, I'm going to add in the other songs that've featured in the series. Off the top of my head, I can think of the Rake's Song, Hotel California, and Who Could Win a Rabbit?, are there any others in the videos that you guys feel could be relevant to discussion?

Absolutely so. Those songs are ones I've already listened to, and they are very relevant.

Glad you liked the point, Sol!

I don't really buy into any "battling monsters" theory, i.e. Slendy vs. the Rake. I think they are together. I think this sensibility of "two forces fighting!!!111" comes out of MH fandom and I frankly am not totally convinced TTA isn't equally bad news in MH either.

Maybe we really couldn't stop what happened to Damsel. #savethedamsel
