Say there is a shy child personality, there will often be a mirror to it resulting in a confident adult personality. I think when it comes to Corenthal, he himself is out to help the guys but HABIT is out to give them grief. Creating puzzles for them to solve before they get anywhere.


I've been thinking HABIT=Corenthal for a while now. And then him in the letters saying my children and that being used in the tweets made me think of it more.
It's more logical than HABIT=some mysterious disease/demon/ect that infects people or the Rake.
Just where does HABITEvan fit in though? Or Captain HABIT? Maybe HABIT was so reoccuring that it was natural for Corenthal to choose it. Or it has another meaning? Who knows at this point.

Exactly. Personalities tend to pick something that reoccurs in their life so at a guess it picked its name out of....pardon the pun...habit. I'm still trying to work out why Evan's mother called him HABIT and where Captain HABIT comes into it......every damn time I type Captain HABIT I end up with the Captain Planet theme tune stuck in my head.

 		Actually, I was just thinking about this kind of thing the other day. Think of it this way: Slendy has been messing around with four people in a loop. Evan, Vinnie, Jeff, Damsel. After they die, have a couple year break where Slendy fucks with other people, and then they get reborn.

The Rake does the same thing. This is the case with Linnie and quite possibly William and Rose.

But here's the catch: last time, Corenthal intervened. He figured this out and took in Evan, Vinnie, James, Damsel and Linnie. He was going to figure out a way to stop the cycle. But at last in the case of the old EMH crew and Damsel, he failed- quite possibly with Linnie too, if she's the Dead Girl, as she looks the guy's age.

So The Rake and/or Slendy got rid of Corenthal and the cycle started all over again. And that's where we are now.

One of the characters (or an off screen character) has either or both MPD and paranoid schizophrenia. Everything we're watching is from their mind/perspective. Perhaps Slendy and the Rake (which always makes me think of Pinky and the Brain) are just an internal struggle in the mind of someone with severe problems.
