Johnny goes on to comment on it, talking about his time in Alaska. But that's not relevant. When I get back from dinner I'll look through for other suspicious things, like the context of "Be not like me; I am alone". Feel free to request for me to look around- my copy has notes and underlinings on every page, lmao.

haha from the sounds of things I'll be keeping a full file on the book if my sister can find it for me lol.

I'd almost call the book a self contained ARG- or something like that. I read it the first time through without thinking anything other then 'this is an interesting, experimental way to tell a story'. Then i looked at the authors website and found countless bits of clues, speculations, hints, and trivia... my second read through was a lot more interesting. It took ten years to write, apparently, and if you go far enough down the rabbit hole, you can appreciate why.

also so whats the website?

I just looked at "..." with the extremely scientific method of watching it in VLC at 0.33x speed. My results:
clip 01 00:00-00:03
clip 02 00:03-00:06
clip 03 00:06-00:08 ?? [black screen, music]
clip 04 00:08-00:13
clip 05 00:13-00:27
clip 06 00:27-00:29 [music, trees]
clip 07 00:29-00:38
clip 08 00:38-00:42 [music, guys going upstairs]
clip 09 00:42-00:48
clip 10 00:48-00:50 [music, driving past trees]
clip 11 00:50-01:05
clip 12 01:05-01:07 [music, driving past trees]
clip 13 01:07-01:13
clip 14 01:13-01:24
clip 15 01:24-01:51
clip 16 01:51-02:01
clip 17 02:01-02:02 [backwards footage, slendy door]

Not sure there's much there there, unless the morse code is only in the clips with the music?

So numbers: 3, 3, 2*,5, 14, 2*, 9, 4*, 6, 2*, 15, 2*, 6, 11, 27, 10, 1.

Um.. not seeing anything at a glance, but it's interesting the music only shows up in 2 (and one four second) intervals. Wild mass guessing, ..-..?

I'm sorry if I'm being noobish, I try not to be with this mythos, but this could be morse code. How it would translate I'm not sure of. But there's a "..." video and a "-." and a "- - -" video. If this time signature list is pertinent, maybe they're trying to tell us something, like about the water/drowning clips that pop up all the time.

That was kinda my idea... and now we have some numbers to play with. The trick is figuring out if some are more relevant then others, or if there's some other odd pattern going on. (maybe they considered anything under 5 seconds short, anything over 8 long? )

also, everyone, i apologize in advance for the 150 pages of speculation this train of thought will produce, before ultimately derailing into a discussion of what jessa would look like with a beard.

Kind of a silly question months too late.

But how did the crew get back from the beach with the house "portal"?

More slendy teleportation?

Also, with all the talk of HOL, Is the ark someplace like in the "dungeon" of the house? The Navidson story is a love story while the Truant bit is the obsession driving it. Is EMH the Navidson and will Slendy start bleeding more in our lives?

Hell, to go more epiletic trees on it, the Slenderman mythos has always been driven by the notion that "we made him real" Maybe the ARK is a literal(and existential!) one that Slendy and Co. need to board to become really real in some horrific Blue Fairy thing.

Good times.

I don't think we've got any idea how they got back. I don't think they've mentioned it. I think it was part of one of the vids they couldn't see so at a guess they don't know it happened. I could be wrong though.

Well- for all we know they could have walked, or hitchiked, or flown back from the beach shown in 78of76. They apparently have no memory of any of the events.

If we resume discussion with them, can anyone try to figure out where the blanks are in their memory? Do they remember driving home from the A day in the Life shoot?

Also: someone ask them: how many people went with them on that hike? in the (unlikely, in my view) event that they remember traveling home, how many people went back with them?

Granted, alex seems to be the only one who answers with real, complex detail. I'm going to miss him.

I've got a theory that maybe the one guy we never saw before, or after.. maybe he was grabbed by slenderman. And since we are looking at possible huge memory/time distortions . is it possible he was slendered so hard that to the EMH crew, he never existed?

@didz: They can see that video, but they have no memory of it. it's the one they found on the USB stick.

Side note: how did jeff get that video anyway?

ps: @didz: PM'd you about HoL.

Nice one, cheers. I couldn't remember if it was on the hidden/ninja vids or whether it was one they hadn't posted but could see lol.

No. It's No-Shave November. Stick with it at least until the first. I implore you.

She'd be the most beautiful bearded lady the world has ever seen. I'd braid it for her. Laughing

And on the House of Leaves discussion, Didz -- it seems like you and I have a lot in common. If that should bleed over into the literary realm, you will absolutely love the book. I first read it back in '04, and I still have nightmares about dark, featureless hallways from time to time.

Uh, i should have put that more in the past tense, tooo late, dixie. I've actually been cleanshaven a few weeks, but that's still relatively 'recent' for me.

I've just got.. One of those faces. I don't look that great with facial hair, i don't look that great without it. (and look freakishly younger). I don't think i'm ugly, but.. I don't think i'll ever find something that actually makes me look good.

EDIT: ..and here i was going to really, really, try to stay on topic. CURSE YOU, FACIAL HAIR INSECURITIES. CURSE YOU.

stubble is the way forward. My boyfriend looks waaaaay younger without any stubble so he tends to keep it. Every so often he shaves and neatens it up. It makes me laugh how much of a difference it makes. When he buys himself a pack of cigarettes without any facial hair he gets asked for I.D. With it, no problem.

I just looked it up. Those three video names spell out "son". I think my theory from the TT thread stands up here too: Slender Man is making a small army of disciples, or totheark-figures.

The scariest hallway I've encountered is in my friend's apartment building. It used to be a hotel back in the 1920's, and the hallway is long, narrow, and dimly lit, with creaky wooden floors and a HUGE mirror on one wall. I'm terrified of hallways. I'm even more terrified of mirrors. His building makes me want to curl up & cry forever.

@SiticHybrid - YOU ARE A SHAME TO THIS FORUM. GROW THAT BEARD BACK.

Yup, mirrors do the same for me. I read a story as a kid about a guy who was cleaning his teeth in the bathroom, bent down to wash the toothpaste out his mouth, stood up and there was some random guy/ghost thing stood behind him, even now at the age of 24 I have to look in the mirror before I stand up properly lol. They freak me out in case I see something I shouldn't see behind me lol.....or in case my own reflection does something absurd lol.

Uh.. the popularly accepted theory was that they spell SOA. n in morse is -. A is .- The third video is actually titled .-

Although.. what if the video titles are meant to be read backwards? S and O are the same.. but it would be "NOS".

Which means absolutely nothing on it's own either.

@didz: so.. .what is the proper response if your relection appears to not match your actions?
