It's prettymuch impossible to keep this thread on topic.

But on topic speculation- do we have any interesting theories on the biblical allusions? I see two possibilities

1)Some of our characters see Slenderman as a god (perhaps it's a sideffect of slenderpuppetry? some sort of supernatural stockholm syndrome?)
2) It's a hint at slendermans purpose/design- The biblical flood was to wipe the earth clean so god could start over.. maybe that's what SM did in the past, and will do again?

Enter the one who's to lazy to look back.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk (too late) but I think with the new video we might have to remake that video with all the clips of WCWAR back together with the latest footage. Or did we absolutely rule that out as a possibility?

I dunno, option 2 doesn't feel right. He seems far too malevolent for that. After all, even the Biblical flood left survivors to start over

Who Could Win a Rabbit was only playing at the very beginning of this new video - during the part with the words flashing across the screen, the ball bouncing/rabbit hopping clip, the countdown, and the flashing [Begin.]. I don't think it would really fit in anywhere. If there really was something we should be looking for/that we overlooked in this new video I wish we could at least get a hint or something, haha.

They more than likely were attacked by The Rake. That's why they said "it's back." As for the purple tape... I'm not sure how much we can get from that. It's just that the only tape color used in EMH is purple. Possibly just to let us know anything with purple tape on it is EMH.

Yes, he left something like.. seven? (noah and three sons and their wives i think? i should just look it up but i'm getting read to call it a night) survivors. Out of... the entire planet.

I wouldn't call that a lack of malevolence .

And really, the only possible act of slendyviolence we've seen is his self defense against evan, and abduction of jessa(?). Maybe he's weighing whether or not they are worth sparing when he depopulates this world?

It's that tweet that makes me think of this- remember, when it rains i'm near- and the allusions to the flood- when it rained for forty days and nights..

Yes, well the rest had also become irredeemably corrupted. He never wanted to kill them all, he had too, if you go by the OT. And harassing the boys and driving them slowly insane isn't malevolent?

Um... "Welcome To The Ark" only had The Rake in it...

Two things.

As far as the purple tape goes, Jeff specifically mentions in one of the Sleep Dep videos that it's tape that he and Alex have at their home.

Slenderman is in WttA as part of a flashback that occurred in one of the other videos. I do not believe he was actually present. The damage to the boys (the patches of gauze or whatever with purple duct tape) are what I had assumed to be bite wounds from The Rake.

I've been playing around with this for a while. This is something I posted on Thursday:

Hmm. That's some interesting stuff...I'd really like to know how all these fires interact with the water motif we've got going, though.

Well, there's been some speculation that Slendy might be a god or god-like being. When we look at the god best-known to most Americans, we see that he had two methods of destructive purification in his toolbox: water and fire. He used water once to wipe out the whole dirty human race, barring a handful of specially chosen people in an ark; he's promised to use fire for a similar purpose at some unspecified future time.

Note that I'm not saying Slendy is the god of the Bible, or an avatar thereof. I'm just saying that these are practices we can associate with gods who are disappointed in their children. Fire and water are like a Phillips head and flat head screwdrivers, the same essential tool for the same basic purpose, but suited for different specific needs.

I've offered the possibility that the alternate/Ark universe is a world that Slendy has already flooded, explaining why the glimpses we've gotten of it seem so devoid of humanity. This could also explain why he's more associated with using fire in our universe: he's already moved through his water phase.

Man- i feel bad for missing that. I read the whole thread specifically so i wouldn't ask noobish questions. And i remember reading the question about fire and water, but not your reply.

Slendergod is disappointed in his children. Disappointed indeed.

I do like that idea, Mattwan. 'The Earth will be cleansed with water and fire' sort of thing. He's already done one, now he's onto the other with places burning down and such.

That other world certainly seems devoid of humanity...unless Slendy brings you there, I assume. I still stand by my theory that the thing they try to hit with the car in the Ashen Waste video is not Slenderman. Looks female to me. Possibly someone dragged into that world? But on nearly colliding, they're immediately transported to the basement. Still wondering why that happened.

Also, dual universes have been a theme of Slendy from the beginning. They established that further in the video 'Jeff.' with the quote from House of Leaves about God creating two universes.
