Probably not until it started ringing, which didn't happen until they turned it away from the camera.

Oh! Hey, I just realized. They knew it was in there because they heard it ringing during one of the cuts. Who do you think was calling it? I suppose it could be they called it during said cut to get Vince to come over for a big Hybrid Reunion, but instead it rang in the closet.

 		On the chain: yeah, it looks flimsy, but I don't think it's intended to completely stop the Rake if it decides to just smash the door down or something - it's there to slow it down, and it's there so that the Rake can't possibly bust its way through that door without making a hell of a noise.

On the security footage: Sparky did it.

 		First of all -- FFFFUUUUUUU. They HAD to do this the night I finally decided to get my computer wiped. And events just HAD to conspire against me so that I didn't wind up getting it back until twenty minutes ago. I've been reading the forum from my phone all freakin' night/morning, and am just now watching the video. No, I have not slept. At all.

And on the topic of the video now:
I have to say, I really like Evan taking the lead. He's got a... vibrant personality, to say the least. But seriously, Evan? "We've got a problem, because that thing is dangerous." No shit? Haha.
Also, I'm pleased to hear more of the Decemberists. Is it weird that I've sung my niece to sleep to The Shankill Butchers on more than one occasion? And Jeff -- you would've known about Alex sooner if you'd have CHECKED THE FUCKING TWITTER.
As for them finding Vinnie's phone, it may just be my mad desire to see Vinnie and his beard again, but could it be that Vinnie dropped his phone somewhere, either back in Lambertville (although he probably would've noticed by now) or in Jeff's house, and the Rake just snagged it?

 		I'm also interested by the copious amounts of cuts in this footage. Lot of cuts and missing time in there...plus the slight distortion when Alex leaves his room on both of the 'camera' positions has always signaled some shit going on to me.

I like paying attention to cuts...maybe I'M THE RAKE?!

I think either the Rake ate Vinny or it will eventually be revealed that Vinny has slowly been turning into the Rake, kind of like a replacement Rake. Invasion of the Body snatchers style!

EDIT: I just rewatched the video and the ending and I kind of realized what was up with that whole part of Alex calling Vince's phone.. Evan's all "Oh, yeah, that's a good idea.. since we have the phone right here....." but it seems like.. Alex just can't comprehend that they are holding Vince's phone because he says "-Your- phone's ringing"..
