Jumping in.

Okay, the term is out and I can join/jump into an ARG. Is it too late for me to join? Anything I can work on? I've a bit of a learning disability and it makes it really hard for me to try to take in everything that's on the 10 pages already listed, but if someone wants to summarize for me what we're doing I can catch on really quick.

Just a note: I've entered the five codes assigned to me a while ago, but they haven't been processed yet. I see they're noted as "Unentered codes" on the wiki, could someone remove them? They are:

Sir Ian Briggs from the Blackwell Briggs promo video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1Tr0m2gOjY
is Andrew Hall:
http://thelichfieldblog.co.uk/2009/10/09/director-relishing-the-challenge-of-new-lichfield-garrick-show/

I didn't know him before, but he has done a very, very good job in the video.

Presenting myself as a player of this game. Hi, I'm JC.

That file is likely accessible from the FreeBSD system from which we got a console dump before. We also got a hash of the root password for that system, which I'm in the process of cracking (with john the ripper -- hopefully they made it weak enough for it to be cracked in a matter of days, not years or decades Wink). I'll keep you updated.

As I said, I think the ones near the end have already been input by someone, but I don't know who. If you know what any of the black files are, please let me know so I can update the wiki page.

I noticed I can fill a few gaps:

The last code in the first line is 0F9BC8

The 5th code in the second line is 6F1906
The 8th code in the second line is 7AC176

The 4th and 5th code in the 5th line are

30C3B1
2A490F

The last codes in the last line (with just the three files) are

2C8FD9
43C85F

All these files are black (?) but have the code beneath.

Signing myself up, I guess. Unfortunately, I found the x0l site before this, and didn't realize that I was limited by number of attempts. I only realized after I inputted the obvious '77472'.

Currently looking through the video to see if there are any hidden there.

EDIT: All I could find was "ID #3478", which doesn't seem right.

No, but it is set up in Rails, and the domain is registered in the same period as the other in-game domains. I'd say this is legit, but we just found it a tad too soon.

Report card: F for plagiarism

So I was going through the "code" from Babbage S7A3E7. By chance I threw that password (or at least part of it) up onto Google and got a direct hit:
http://isc.sans.org/diary.html?storyid=6742

So the "hack" was basically taken directly from this posting, with a little modification to the prompts.

By the way, has anyone been able to work out what code that is yet?
http://conspiracyforgood.com/public/view/185

Is it even possible?

And has anyone inputted '77472' yet?
It is not invalid.
