We (Agent Lex, Phyxius, and I) solved Jack's riddle from everymanajackof us:

The answer led to the file 946835. This is how we did it (for those who are interested).

From the card file 263031 it said:

Quote:
once upon a time on serendipity lane
there lived a deck of cards
who faught all day long
at one end lived NINE the lane's letteranian
he and FIVE ne'er got along very well
that's why they made their lairs
on either end
of the stairwell

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So first of all we were able to deduce that 9 was the first number and 5 was the last (either ends of the stairwell).

from 592169:

Quote:
EIGHT didn't like any of them
BFFS FOREVER
so she found
for herself a handsome evil twin of NINE
just to piss him off
they formed that yeah when a King was shot
and stole
the middle ground
IS FOREVER BFFS

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
From this we gather the 8 was next to the 6 (the evil twin of 9). 1968 was the year a King (Martin Luther King) was shot. So the order was 68 and not 86 and is in the centre (the middle ground).

From 335F14:

Quote:
SIX didn't like THREE
and thus THREE got beaten
he got pushed to the one end
(who loves you? Smile)
where he might end up eaten

and from 137F50:

Quote:
FIVE liked food
and grew so fat
that it turned to dusk over his house
before he was done with his lunch
walk around the house (not hidden)
&spades like a champion &spades (not hidden)
also he smelled of elderberries

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We realized the 3 is next to 5 because 5 is hungry. 5 is also at the end at "dusk" opposite from 9 (Lord of the Morning).

From F70D48:
Quote:

FOUR was the groundbreaker
the packtmaker
she bacame BFF with the Lord of the Morning
they had tea every day
but she didn't know
(it didn't show)
that she was the bufferzone to the Twin

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
4 was the buffer between 9 and 6 (the twin). It sits next to Lord of the Morning (9 a.m.).

Easy Peasy.

However, some of us have a gut feeling that this is not the end of the everymanajackofus cards.

Chesterton's little brother,

Before I apologize for my grave missteps, perhaps you would like to enlighten me as to the recent traffic to this inbox?

I gather you have either gone through the trouble of creating further personas just to make me regret contacting you in the first place (which is cute, but crazy; and who needs schizophrenics) or you're sharing the entirety of our communications with your enterprising little woodland friends.

Now I understand (believe me I really do) a generalised sort of disregard for integrity mister Florin, I do. I have no ...delusions of privacy, but. It's getting to be a little tedious.

Just, you know, fyi.

Lovely little poem though, appreciate you pandering to my theatrics. Makes me feel special!

Also I'm sorry, but while you're vastly entertaining (especially when compared to some), you just don't make an extremely convincing case for, shall we say, your side. What would I even do with your trust. You're kind of a lousy contingency plan.

but you know
whatever.

I'm kind of busy here. What with being a pawn and all.

Did I tell you they know where your lil leading lady is now? Oh right, you don't need her! Gosh, now I feel silly for bringing it up.

Again I ask why dost thou weep,

Knave you placed your faith in friends,
And they hath let thee down in the end.
And always knave your friends would talk
Away from them should you walk.
Knavish knave they hath betrayed,
Treated thee and made thee dismayed.
You knave who sinks here in despair,
With the bloodless drip in your hair.

And knave now would you run,
From this, myself, the pallid one.
A child that thou did not see die,

So was said by the knave child,
As he left to graves weather mild.
Now how woeful my heart did beat,
My soul, the knave, one hardy feat,
Left itself to a colde bed,
And in hades it was dead.

Yea, I will bless them as they bend and love them where they lie,

The hour when death is like a light and blood is like a rose, --
You never loved your friends, my friends, as I shall love my foes.

In reference to spamming, I'm one of the culprits. I consulted with a veteran ARG'er and we figured well... why not? If he wants games, let's play. He mentions "persona's" plural, I don't know who else may have bugged him.

Below is our correspondence.

Why, hello there Sir Knave.

I've been eager to speak with thee...
if not for my own joy than rather our own current calamity.
From past writings yes, you are quite correct.
We've misplaced our crθme... our own derelict
of it's own doing, for that it's quite sure.
what comes next although... we may procure
a certain kinship, yes, that may be
from outside the bounds of our own certainty.
You may call me valet.. yet Valet de Couer
Here is a game you're up for.. I'm quite sure
It begins not with a word, no, that would be crude
rather a number of Your own certitude.
Ace of spades yes? I found it odd
you'd place your own faith in one quite lost
you see... the ace is a rogue... a man on the run
a card who longs to be far from the fun
yet it's quite apparent that we finally see
you couldn't leave it alone. Not even for thee.
So it's with sympathy that I leave you to finally be...
lost.. and alone..... with your own fear to breed.

Oh, and get out of my shtick, yo, this is unseemly. In fact; there can be only one. I'm going to think of you as MacLeod now. Of the clan MacLeod. sup Connor. u srs, d00d?

Tssk tssk.

If anyone could appreciate a good rhyme, I would have thought the infallible Spade could. How disappointing. Although♥pride goeth♥they say.

Honestly, I find myself a bit put off by this grandstanding of yours. Courtesy does have it's uses, especially for those who find themselves lacking frands. What would you do should no one care if the almighty omega was only a fairy tale? Say... a bust. Too much of a good thing.

Sir,

I don't know who or indeed what (wolves?) raised you, but over here in humanville we have ways of doing things that don't primarily focus on browbeating people! (That's not actually true is it haha.) Anyway, I'm gonna go right ahead and call your bluff there, I hope you don't mind too much. Also: WHAT BETTERS, ha-ha-ha.

What if I do?

p.s bait and switch is totally my gig, get out.

By the way, do you still have any email hacking software to sell?

Marcus,

I was wondering, what is babbage and why are the Jacks trying to hack into it/take it over? And who are the Jacks? Are they Blackwellbriggs jackals security force? Why are the Jacks putting files into babbage? What is the serendipity birdtower operation? What happened to David Nsofu? What exactly is the Hypatia Protocol and why is it running?

Some answers, Greenmarine is ok we spoke to him via AIM yesterday evening.

One last question, are you Claire's informant or do you know who he is/was?

Thanks Marcus, we're doing all we can to help you guys,

Fuck man, I am sorry I didn't get back to you lot sooner. I am staying with these really strange people. They are trying to teach me some stuff and you don't even want to know what they are having me eat...

I am afraid I am not going to be able to be of as much help as necessary, I am only an initiate of CFG, but I promise to share what knowledge I have.

>> I was wondering, what is babbage and why are the Jacks trying to hack into it/take it over?

Babbage is a blackbox of sorts. You know, like the ones they have in airplanes. We log everything we do on there in case something like this happens, so that our work is never truly lost. If jacks were trying to hack it, it would definitely be bad news - but luckily it's unhackable.

>> And who are the Jacks?

"Jacks" is just what we call BB's hired dogs/gorillas/whatever animal. Stay out of their way. They are bad news for real. They are even looking for me here. Rules do not apply to them, they listen to the highest bidder.

>> Why are the Jacks putting files into babbage?

That is simply not possible. KC and Tkat built that system, I can't imagine they could be outsmarted by the Jacks...

>> What is the serendipity birdtower operation? What happened to David Nsofu?

I am sorry, but I have no idea who or what that is. Sad

>> What exactly is the Hypatia Protocol and why is it running?

My best guess would be that it is CFG's response to what is going on in London, but I am really not sure.

>> Some answers, Greenmarine is ok we spoke to him via AIM yesterday evening.

Really!? I am so glad to hear that. How do I get in touch with him? Maybe that means that the others are allrite too. Did you ask him? What did he say?

>> One last question, are you Claire's informant or do you know who he is/was?

Informant? For what? Sorry. I only knew Claire vaugely.

>> Thanks Marcus, we're doing all we can to help you guys,

I know, I appreciate it.

Much Love,

Man, that's intense!!

What is this, is this like, your evo-form? What? Your FRIAR is evolving! Your FRIAR evolved into SAINT! Give your SAINT a new name?

SAINT used EMPTY THREAT! It doesn't affect SPADES!

I can't decide if I liked you better when you were crazy or not.

Anyway, I can't give you that. Because I don't know magic. I enjoy that you think I'm a magical creature though! I mean how else did you figure that? "Huh, this stunningly handsome and literate guy who simply must have leaked that scary scary video (I MEAN WHO ELSE COULD HAVE PULLED IT OFF??) must obviously also have unlimited power (adept of the dark side amirite) over whatever mercenary agendas The Company may have! Of course! It's brilliant!! what could go wrong"

aside from everything.
hello. what do you think you're playing at.

Do you think I'm scared of you?

Are you one of those all eggs in one basket type guys? Well, at least you don't hedge your bets, right?

Why don't you talk to CYNGS, they seem to be the clever one in your outfit.

Seriously though ...
... I figured I liked my ass enough to look into this whole thing and it seems to me that
- Some lady called Pegbox talks about ~*finding*~ something on a more or less disreputable portal site.
- Some 15y.o. punkass calling themselves KC shares a file on the interwebs.
- Some dude(?) using the moniker AzureWolf777 uploads it to yt.
- Hell, she breaks loose.

I ask you sir:
Where is my crime?!

Oh, and if I really did help you that one time, what kind of payback is this supposed to be, is this where mercy gets you?

xo,

E-mails from Marcus

So I had some updates from Marcus. I had sent him a question:
Quote:

Shizzire to Marcus
show details May 29 (4 days ago)

Do you need any assistance with that lead? Whatever we can do to help.

Do you know where Ann Marie is?

Which got a response:
Quote:

show details 6:35 AM (9 hours ago)

Fuck.. Couple of intense few days. I don't know where she is precisely, but the protocol I got here states that she needs to get out of the country. I think she might have followed up on what they were working on. I know it had something to do with some pipline project.

//M

While I was waiting for that response I sent another thread:

Quote:

Shizzire to Marcus
show details May 31 (2 days ago)

Hey Marcus, I hope you are doing ok. A lot of civil unrest there in Thailand, no?

Quick question, you have any idea the origin of the name 77472?

Thanks,
ShiZzire

Which got the following response:

Quote:

Marcus Bergh to me
show details 7:08 AM (8 hours ago)

Hey. It's ok. It keeps m under the radar from the Jacks... I have been asking Argyle that for ages, but no - I don't know. It might be some kind of cipher, but I have never been able to crack it. It's too short and it never adds up.

Best,
//M

So I'm hoping there are three clues in that last one regarding "77472". One is that Argyle knows the answer. Two, that it is possibly "some kind of cipher" and Three "it never adds up". Remembering the "math" in peg_box's revised BB video "G+3=J"... Hmmmmm...

Explanation of my email, the subject is not hearts, not clubs, not diamonds: then rot-1 for "Let's see how powerful you really are"

Body is Base64 for "I hope for your sake you intercept this Ace.

Last chance.

ETA: His reply subject looks like base64 but comes out to "Sir ra" which is odd, I was thinking maybe it was cut off by the email client. comes out to "Sir Rang"

Okay, gotta eat something - hope all is well.

So after two shout outs today, I decided to message Jack (for the first time).

He responded right away. I don't know why you guys complain it is so hard to get a response from him. Maybe it has to do with "approach". You know... catching more flies with honey than vinegar?

I wrote:

Aw...

Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill laughed to see such sport (or did she push him in the first place?)

I have a game for us to play, Black Pete. A prize for you because I like to share the wealth.

that was it!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Oh...and perhaps I should have mentioned I sent him a picture of my boobs with jokers pasted over the nipples and with Lady Gaga's head photoshopped over my face and a big ass heart behind us (sorry, not sharing that one--Just imagine the body somewhere between Pamela Anderson and Carrot Top, and you get the idea)

i'll let phyx tell you the cipher if you can't figure it out yourself ;D

his response:

You're going to make me blush.

Or at least, you're going to make me smile: Smile

Hi, you're cyngs?
You're really clever, aren't you. That's a nice thing to be! I'm clever too.

So you are friends with the friar?

Annnd, sorry I don't seem to have a picture for you at the moment.

so....nothing we can use...but so worth it to make jack *blush* (well almost)

No apology necessary! Whatever it takes to progress, great work!

I don't have to remind you that you're on the run because someone ratted you guys out. What do you need to tell Marcus that's so important anyway? He's hiding just as much as you are, and until the Jacks can be called off it should stay that way.

But wth it's just an email: lowkeySPLATconspiracyforgood.com

I'd lay off the alcohol if I were you, if the jacks come for you, you won't even get a chance to blink unless your sober. Then again it will probably hurt a lot less if you aren't.

Best wishes,
Azure

Nice one, Mate.

Keep in mind there though - "Alcohol is the anesthesia by which we endure the operation of life." And the person who said that won two big statues.

I've got a feed of electricity that's been spotty here so I'm starting to feel like I'm in solitary... Hope to get a stronger current if I pull from a couple neighbors.

Who's this Jacks character anyhow? Saw his name on the net this morning and thought people were playing jacks again... then I felt bleedin' old.

Sorry - rambling because It's better than staring at the tele any more than I have to...

In solidarity,

BxC

Shaw wasn't being chased by murdering nihilist sociopaths. Does Brian think he's going to win awards just from getting drunk?
