Stumbled on to this game yesterday - and already addicted?

Iīm trying to get an overview of where your guys are at this point (reading through all these threads, as well as the ones at matrixreloaded.com - and the info at "down the rabbit hole" and "the meacortex conspiracy" --- is one h*** of a job - ok, I admit it, I didnīt read it all)...
So far Iīm incredibly impressed!
- this is my two cents at this time: On Phillip Gaidenīs MetaDex thereīs a mail from Beth McConnell dated 11/10-03, saying sheīs been caught going through a file on "James" (Avery, no?) on Marcus Ormondīs desk.
The person who (almost certainly) caught her is "Kathy" (Katherine Cunningham?).
Thoughts on this: Someone posted two pictures (I forgot where and who), comparing Phillip Gaiden and Stone Jeffreys, a Metacortex network security executive - so maybe Beth is trusting someone she shouldnīt?
Also thereīs been speculations that shesmissing is Cathy Cunningham - but shesmissing was posted before Bethīs mail...

Iīm not very good at cracking codes and such, but the "activities" of the players interest me in a detective-sort-of-way - I think all the hacking is giving us access to information which then should be analyzed...to find hesmissing and shesmissing? Or what may be the objective of the game...

BTW, why is there a reference to metacortex in the source code of the aquapolis-popup?
- and who is Kane (referred to on Gaidenīs MetaDex)?
- and what does "lodging for Cairo" mean - sounds like Cairo is a person?

I have searched Bethīs DB on Littleboxes for Cairo, no result.

- Kane is of course dr. Leo Kane...why is Gaiden interested in him?
(thereīs a crossed-out note on the Dex "call UH about LK" - if LK is Leo Kane, who is UH?)

Could it be because of dr. Kaneīs liking to Wongmo, who, at his own site, writes "consider yourself the ghost in the machine"...?

Looks like you're caught up pretty well for starting just yesterday; I'm impressed!

The questions you're asking - I don't think there is a consensus on their answers yet. Some theories are spread through the "puzzles" forum, but there is no centralized section that answers/attempts to answer any single question (I think?). Some possibilities are:
- UH = Underscore Hosting
- Phillip was reluctant to publish Kane's article at http://www.paranormaljournal.org/vol2_4.html#1 His "interest" in Kane might have something to do with that.

Anyway, I know all of this must have been a load to read through, and if you still have questions, then they're probably as "unanswered" as anybody else's - so just try to find a thread in which they would be appropriate, and go for it Very Happy Very Happy

 		i think phillip just has a beef with dr leo kane and thinks he's a quack, and UH is Underscore hosting, i dunno maybe he's trying to get leo booted off the ISP or something...who knows, i just know phillip doesn't like him Smile

 		The UH that Gairden contacted is most likely the University of Hawaii, Kane's alma mater. Looks like Phil was doing some background work.

I believe that this is a manual that lays down the style generally for published, typeset work; I think someone did mention that.

Still doesn't rule it out as a clue though!
