So many related numbers and coincidences... But how exactly do they relate to the game and the matrix??
Well, the 500 thing among many things that people keep trying to connect to the Matrix usually just end up being things that pertain to this story. They might have a relation to the Matrix in the longrun - as in we'll probably find out in the end. But right now all the clues given to us I believe are just supposed to be short term clues getting us from one part of the game to the next.

Yeah, I saw that too. Is it just a typo on the PMs part? I think so. I'm like 90% sure that that was just a PM typo. I remember we made a big deal about the Directory being messed up, and started saying how it was a glitch in the matrix, then we realized the PMs just screwed something up and fixed it.
Weird... they haven't corrected it yet. I know that they fix typo-sort-of-stuff. The stuff that is supposed to be missing/misspelled leads somewhere - that's how the guys in chat got "night.html", not to mention the words missing out of paintover quotes that turn out to be file names. I hope they fix it soon...

I don't quite see what you're referring to... Where's this typo?
Sorry if it's PAINFULLY obvious, I tend to miss those things...

Yeah, they haven't fixed it yet. Makes me wonder. Maybe it's not a big deal. Just one word. But it did stick out to me when I first read it.

We're referring to the news update.

Oh... it's my fault - I should have been more clear. It's in the 10.28.2003 news on metacortechs.
Omg! They just fixed it!!! Thanks, guys!

Hmm.. I just noticed that in the scroller it says 'labyrinth project progressing'
odd..
Does anyone else think it's odd that they would publicly announce the project is progressing, but as far as I can tell have not publicly announced what the project is? I think the only thing we know about this project is from internal memos/emails in the Metadex. Should we be looking for directories (/projects/labyrinth) or domains (labyrinth.metacortechs.com, e-labyrinth.com, etc) maybe?

More interesting "500"s
This was over on the thread about Ethan's blog weirdness. Does this mean anything to anyone? I thought that "500" was a weird error but then again, I might just be ignorant of its common usage.

according to rfc 2616 (See here )
10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The entire 50x class means some sort of server error..
Plus its BrianEnigmas personal website, not in game.. so..
Nothing to see here, move along.. ;)

100% with you on this one Bri... I know my company is wary of announcing a product until the VERY last minute. I mean, we've just released something new this month after over six months of speculation and guessing... and the spec and guesses were coming from US, the people expected to sell this thing!
Very curious that on a public website they say "Heres the name of something we're working on. It's coming along well, thank you very much. That's all we have to share with you at this time."...

Labyrinth also sounds likes an internal code name for the project and not the name they'd go with once they are trying to sell the thing. I mean, you'd think they'd find a way to brand the product in accordance with the "meta-" naming convention.
MetaGamex
MetaVRX
MetaOffice
MetaDex
I also think that the marketing department would need to be fired if they named a product "Labyrinth". Companies tend to shy away from product names that have negative connotations.

Well, what about this Metacafe ? Is this an ingame site? Someone wanna take this? I'm like barely computer literate, but I know people here will know if this site is ingame or not.
I just tried something because of the "gift certificate" to the employee of the month to the Metacortex cafe. It says "coming soon" though. So...

Large corporations have large cafeterias to feed their employees. The big tech companies I've worked for have had really good gourmet type food. The catch is, the employees have to pay for it and it costs a lot more than Micky D's. A gift certificate for the company cafe is exactly the kind of thing you'd expect as a reward at a crappy company.
I don't think Metacortex would have a domain for their employee cafe.

I don't think so... the USH logo doesn't exist, either:

"meta" is a common prefix, I'm guessing that web site name is just coincidence.

No, it has to be in game because Kat Cunningham got a $50 gift certificate for being named employee of the month. Maybe when this is all over, we can all pick up some Metacortechs keychains and stuffed Laika dolls.

She got a gift certificate to the "MetaCortex Cafe", not the "MetaCafe".
I would say not in game at the moment. The domain registration info doesn't match correctly, and the hosting is a completely different company.
