[OT] Tron Legacy Sequel - Already in motion! Saw this on slashfilm.com, original source from The Hollywood Reporter/HeatVision:
THR: http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2010/04/tron-legacy-sequel-in-the-works.html
slashfilm: http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/04/06/screenwriters-return-for-tron-legacy-sequel/
"Disney puts 'Tron Legacy' sequel in motion (exclusive)
"Tron Legacy" isn't due until December, but Disney already is putting a sequel on its monorail track.
Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the "Lost" writers/co-executive producers who worked on "Legacy," have begun writing a sequel to the studio's sci-fi tentpole.
No details have been released because it is so early in the process. Notwithstanding the question of whether the movie will be a hit, other topics to ponder are whether the sequel will focus on spinoff characters or center on a new adventure set in the "Tron" world. Insiders have suggested that Kitsis and Horowitz are working on a way to round the story into a trilogy…"

(It's "Already in motion!". S'okay, I do that kind of thing all the time. Especially when I'm sleepy. )
Definitely a good sign for the movie. Disney has to think pretty highly of what they've seen to begin taking early steps on a next movie.
Needless to say, I can't freakin' wait!!!!

Just to inject a bit of realism into the thread, as much as I like Tron and as much as I think T:L is going to be great. This kind of thing always makes me nervous.
All I'm saying is that I still haven't seen T:L. I can't rightly be excited about a sequel...even though I kind of am.

Ok, Lets clear a few things up here. The monorails at Disney are just that. 2 are active one yellow and one blue. I personally prefer the yellow one. I have not heard anything about a sequel to the NEW movie yet.
Fact: A new video game will be out at the same time as the movie for your Wiis and X boxes.
Fact: One that I have not seen mentioned anywhere yet. A new TRON Animated series is in the works. This is probably what is being heard and where the confusion has come in to play.

I have been waiting for someone else to make the connection but I have not seen it so I will pass on the lost message.
ALLEN BRADLEY is more than just a name in the world of TRON. The original movie pulled real information from the computer industry of the late 70's/early80's. The character name is taken from a REAL company of the same name. They originally developed "bubble logic memory" for computers. Today they make customized computer motor controllers. These motors can be used in robots or any number of configurations. Disney does use Allen Bradley computers in a number of their park rides. For example, An AB computer controls all of the moving scenery in the "Its a small world" ride. but not the boats.
Just remember what "The Family guy" show taught us. The children in the ride are actually lost kids dressed up and forced to work as slaves for Disney
Anyone who may want to know more about AB computers here is a link for you.http://www.ab.com/

Well, maybe they did base it on Allen Bradley, but in Tron the character's name is Alan Bradley.

I have loved Tron since I first saw it as a kid. I still have my original toys I got as a kid. Tron has had it's bumps here and there. Re-release of the classic toys, 2.0 video game. Now, it is coming on like a runaway train. I can't believe it. Its got me twitching like a madman with excitement!
