I agree. Definitely some production titled "Aries" happening but unknown if related to Super 8...

Hiring Manager Becky Brake was the supervising location manager for Star Trek...

I believe Aries is code for Super8 unless Bad Robot has two "secret" movies being made both for 2011 release?

If Super 8 is title we are all searching for that, if he code names it , we will overlook it so he assumes.

PS- the opening scene in trailer with the stars may be the Aries constellation,or perhaps what the stars are in the poppeteers pic .

Im going to look into the constilation Aries ASAP and compare it to everthing we found so far. I just wanted to let you know that Super 8 (last time I checked) wasnt in production yet and they just made a Trailer for the movie to start this up. Anyway the Project(s) I would imagine the 2nd UNTITLED one would be Star Trek judging by Location Scout since the first one was almost entirely filmed in LA and North California

yea ive read thru many a site about aries and cant find any connection to anything that seems important to super 8 so im going to lean more towards star trek myself so im with vapor

I go along with the TREK theory for now as well, though not for the reason of the Aries ship in TREK lore. And even though I joked about the title before, I was half serious proposing it.

On the other hand, there are numerous titles in Paramount's pipeline for 2011/2012 to which this code could relate if not already assigned a 'code name', including:

(in order ascending release date)

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE IV
WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE*
NICK FURY
INTERSTELLAR*
DUNE (Aries=Atreides??)
DOCTOR STRANGE
THE AVENGERS

*space/star-related titles

I found out 2 things when I was looking for the Constilation.

1. Im not good at finding them
2. There is no Aries to my knowledge in the opening screen shot. It looks like it could be some sort of animal (a few of them) but there still isnt anything to look into. A dead end. However im not convinced that Aries is Star Trek by where they are looking to film. Aries is probably another project, but then again we will find out for the future. My thing is...

Why would they hide the Star Trek 2 title from us?

its very normal tohide names of flix esp big ones so its harder to track for locations and info

Stil, it doesn't really add anything to the game except the term "aries" which could stand for just about anything. Bad Robot has become a very heavy name in the industry (read "think tank") during the last years, so, who knows...
I'm pretty sure a lot of guys will keep an eye on it none the less Smile.

It's not that Paramount/BR is hiding the title from us. But if a movie crew pulls into to town to film STAR TREK, the price of everything goes up. "I'm filming ARIES" draws little notice or interest.
