It sucks that I have to get ready for work
I would like to fool with the file and decipher the notes involved. ...
There's also an "odd" version of the file I captured ... I will have to post it later;
(it has a lot of distortion and beeps and stuff like that ... I captured it before I hit "continue" ... Not sure what to make of it, tho the "success" is also part of the audio ...)

As to the notes being the same or different, it sounds to me like several notes are repeated. The first note seems to recur several times.

I don't know if this is relevant in any way but, it just struck me after listening to this, that it sounds a bit like when you dial a number on phones and each number has been assigned a separate sound. This would also explain the repeated sound in the middle which struck me as odd at first.
Maybe this is a phone number we're hearing, if so, it's definitely been distorted some what.

Interesting theory, but it would then have 8 digits, while phone numbers in the US have 7. Plus, no area code is included, so we would have to attempt to assume some area code.
It's possible that it could be a numeric code, but it doesn't seem like it's a phone number.

There seems to be slight variance in the left and right channels. It's pretty slight, though. Also, there is noise after the 8th note. Kind of like a "swoosh".

That's the sound of the file's creator being taken to the mothership
ETA: looking at the above image; I wonder if there's a significance to the fact that each note adds a "jag". The first has 2, the second 3...

I'm trying to do pitch detection on the file, but I've never really done this before Here's my guess at the pitches (based on a piece of software). I've also matched them to musical notes as best as I could:
279.7 Hz -- C
#
4/D
b
4
377.9 Hz -- F
#
4/G
b
4
285.0 Hz -- D4
414.2 Hz -- G
#
4/A
b
4
558.3 Hz -- C
#
5/D
b
5
622.4 Hz -- D
#
5/E
b
5
322.1 Hz -- E4
924.9 Hz -- A
#
5/B
b
5
Not sure if these will even be helpful, but the information's there

is anyone able to extract that file and break it down into each individual note? that way we could use an instrument tuner to find each one
Has somebody tried this already?
Maybe it would be usefull...

See above ^^^ Although I took an all-digital approach to it, the results should be more-or-less the same. Although, I'm not really sure about the accuracy of my answers, so someone might want to try doing it manually.

using an online tuner http://www.seventhstring.com/tuner/tuner.html gives no interesting result as to identify the notes

Ah, okay. Sorry.
But do you really think there will be a hidden message in it?
the thelephone number theory seems more likely to me.
Even though it doesn't have to be an actual telephone number, maybe just the numbers are important?
