Caesar is mysteriously off-the-grid? Are we finally seeing the Matrix connection here? Caesar = unplugged dude leading this band of hackers to the truth? Not very successfully, I might note...

well sometimes 'the grid' is used to referer to the internet..
So he may be saying he knows about the things he's doing in real life, etc..

Maybe he has some sort of scheme going, and this person is just refering to knowing that he's not fully on the up and up..

Moriar,

Thanks Smile I have a question, though - how did you get the user and the filename? Confused Much appreciation if you have time to answer (or you can just post that part of chat).

[edit] oops... I think I got now... just googled it... Embarassed [edit]

Ahh, Peace at last.

The initial rush is over and a lot seem to have gone back into hiding until the next clue appears. Wonder how many new subscriptions they got, saw a lot of first time posters throwing stuff at the boards like there was no tomorrow. Very Happy

Anyway, I digress. While It's quiet, and since I've not seen it mentioned yet, I thought I'd pop a transcript of "bigmclargehuge.mic".

It's a video that shows some lines of text - one at a time - on a white background. There's some music playing that sounds like it's backwards.
Code:
orphan punk
off the grid
a hero for the ages!
omg! everybody worship
what's your mission, kid?
is this your final stop?
what are you looking for?
i think i know

I've created a DivX version (if it'll let me upload it)

Edit: Sorry, didn't mention, the original is a quicktime video (.MOV)

Edit: (hey why not until somebody posts)

I've checked the sound and it's not backwards, when you play it backwards it still sounds backwards.

I think it's several layers of sound, some speeded up, some slowed down. Maybe some backwards. If you play it at about 2-3X speed you can hear chanting in the background.

Sadly I don't know enough about the quicktime format (it mentions sound layers in the player) or sound processing in general to pick the bones out of it.

Anyone?

I'd appreciate knowing how this was found. Thanks. (I get the string except for the final bigmclargehuge.)

Same as the others, finding what was missing from the quote.

Check the list Here and look for the words from the picture.

Just until BrianEnigma gets his archive updated:

http://www.magenheimer.com/argstuff/bigmclargehuge/

Sorry if the extensions are a little confusing... And I'm working on putting them in the correct order.

EDIT: Okay, got em in order, with their original post times too.

Wow, poor Caesar. Kinda ironic too, if you consider the real Caesar.

And omg, I guess the only piece of information that we will EVER be able to get about ypt is that his name is Random. I'm still not giving up, though.

The most curious thing to me is that Texel first defends Caesar with "oh, he doesn't have to tell us what he doesn't want to tell us... 'this stuff' is still worth our efforts". And then - 10 minutes later - he's out!! Completely turns around his argument, too; now it's "you could have told us... this is too dangerous."

Also, a few of them weren't there; so can Caesar still count on them, maybe?

Anyway, thanks to Moriar and Marl.

Another thing - why is the file name what it is? We've had this unsolvable sequence of numbers, but it was maintained by Caesar. Why would Scratch stick to that standard? Why name his file "26" instead of "caesar_sucks.jpg" or something?
