There's this site Disney partnered with to promote TRON: Legacy. It's called getglue.com. It's kind of like foursquare/Facebook Places, but instead of checking into places you check into watching movies/reading books/listening to music. Basically if you check in enough and like enough topics/films/etc. you get stickers as a reward. Once you earn 7 stickers online you can begin sending away for them...free of charge.

The reason this is relevant is because if you check into watching TRON: Legacy you will earn a sticker that looks like this:

It's pretty slick...and also...now we know what the film is rated (I didn't know before seeing this sticker).

FWIW I got my getglue stickers in the mail today. They're surprisingly larger than I thought they'd be. Slightly larger than a 50 cent piece.

Weirdly enough though, I didn't receive all the stickers I had earned at the point I had requested them.. and one I never did.

I still haven't got my GetGlue stickers yet. I've been waiting for aaaaages. When did you request the stickers to be sent?

Actually, that's the weird thing. I THINK I sent in a request once I hit the then 7 sticker requirement (new requirement is 15), but I never received any confirmation that I requested them. In fact, I could go back to the same page and put in more requests if I wanted to.

More recently, about 2 weeks ago, I put in a Request again for stickers, as I'd hit around 85 stickers on the site. The ones I received were more along the lines of the amount of stickers I had when I put in the 1st request (I think I got around 9 or 10 stickers). It doesn't seem very organized, perhaps it will get better as the site gains popularity. I imagine they only have one guy doing this right now.

Decided to make a Tron Legacy theme for my dorm room door. I think it's pretty cool, and everyone seems to like it!

Looks nice, bud! ^

I got the 2nd Tron: Betrayal book today. Really good read. I also picked up the Original Movie Adaptation. Haven't started reading it, but Marvel's cover art on it alone makes me look forward to it.

Ok, I think I found the record for most overpriced Tron: Legacy items.

This limited edtion Vynilmation figure is larger than the normal figures, comes with a custom stand and each figure will be personalized to the buyer.

All of this for the low low price of $595.00

No, I did not have a stroke while writing that, $600.00+ (with sales tax) for a piece of plastic.

For those who don't know what Vynilmation is, it's a disney take on the Troxie toys that other companies sell.

That is standard price for a Noah Vinylmation. I believe his 5 foot custom one from D23 Expo went for over 8000 bucks. Now that I think about it...he should do a custom 5 foot one for Tron Legacy and/or Electronica...I would never be able to afford it but it would be cool to see.

Went to TRU tonight and picked up the exclusive die cast villain 3 pack. Odd they didn't have the hero 3 pack. Even stranger, its not available at all! Not even online!

I'm actually floored at the notion that this is a standard price for 9 inches of plastic. Shocked

Well, the standard price is like 40 bucks for a manufactured one. These Tron ones will be individually painted...or well airbrushed probably, by Noah. He's a pretty well known artist it seems. Does some amazing work. Have you seen his lightcycle Mickey shirt?!

No, I haven't. I think the part that floors me is that it's being sold as an investment when in reality it most likely will only go down in value (as with most collectables made from 1990's on) since it is a very niche market, similar to the beanie babies.

True. Well I believe they still have some of the 55th DL Anniversary vinylmations he did that sold at a similar, if not the same, price point. It will be interesting to see how these sell...I think it would have been better if he had done like lightcycles, recognizers, and other vehicles on them. Here is the link to Noah's blog and at the top of the page is a pic of all the Tron stuff he has done and that will be released next weekend I believe: http://noahfineart.com/blog/ .

I'm tempted to swing on by the Disneyland Resort's DTD the day they do the sales just to see the line. While I may think the price is outrageous I know full well that they will be sold out by the end of the day. Disney is one of the few companies on earth that can sell it's garbage at a profit.

If DL can't sell off all of its 55th anniversary vinylmations by now...when there are probably many more extreme disneyland fans over there then there are extreme Tron fans...the tron vinylmation may fail...although I can't wait to see the normal, and much more reasonably priced, Tron vinylmations go on sale Very Happy. They could make some kick butt designs.

You make a good point, I totally blanked on the fact that the fans did not snap up the Celebration Mickey (a solid gold statue that was valued at like $US 4 million), which actually would have been a sound investment considering that gold has gone up in value.

Calling it "So 9/10" is actually quite appropriate as the last public display was on that day (I was there).
