The seller does a lot of business in posters. Did we have anyone in the line, that night that can verify the story that goes with these posters?
They're nice and all... But that's a good chunk of change to spend on something that may not be truly limited.
They're being replaced with new listings as soon as they sell on ebay, so if the story's true... They grabbed a bunch in the chaos. Which I find fishy.

yes please! Very Happy

Very cool, but can it really be considered a "Clu" shirt if the design on the front isn't the design that Clu has and the color isn't yellow like Clu?

They could most certainly be legit, but it's strange that the posters haven't been mentioned before or offered on ebay earlier, since there is always someone that puts up swag right after they get it on ebay. Buyer beware.

It's definitely a Target exclusive. Picked it up today along with the 2 other new action packs, Sam/Clu and Jarvis/Flying Black Guard.

That is kind of like the Han Cholo belt buckles that they are selling at D Street (only shop on disney property that sells them), I've never seen them for sale on ebay. I honestly have no idea if they are even selling or if I am the only person that bought any.

I finally saw the movie today (holidays were nuts, etc) and now find myself really wanting to get an identity disc or two..

Can anyone tell me if the "deluxe" ones out in the toy section are full scale to the movie ones, or are there other, better versions out there?

Not sure if it's exactly the same. The Han Cholo belts were a licensed product, and there is information on them on the web, there is zero information on these "women of Tron" posters. I would have thought in this day and age, someone from the Downtown Disney showing would have snagged one of the posters and blogged about it, but interestingly enough, no one has. The only information about these posters link back to the ebay auctions. Again, I'm not saying they're not legit, just interesting about the lack on info on them.

The buckles were also sold at the Tron Pop Up Shop. Which style did you get?

I think the Spin Master "Deluxe" discs and their "Durable Flying Disc" are the only licensed ones being sold at the moment. I've read the "Deluxe" discs are smaller than the ones in the movie and the "Durable Flying Disc" is the same size (or close to it)

The Durable Flying Disc is essentially a frisbee, made of molded plastic. The Deluxe is the one that lights up and makes sounds. While the Sam Flynn Deluxe discs are abundant at retailers, the Rinzler disc and Kevin Flynn disc (which are both being sold on ebay for an arm and a leg) are beginning to appear at Targets. As a matter of fact I just picked two Rinzler discs (c'mon, I had to get two) at the local Target!

I meant more in the sense that few are in circulation not really about information about them.

Oh I got the 80's Tron logo and the sterling silver and brass lightcycle one (there was supposed to be a 2nd cycle in inversed colors or gold plated but they shelved it and removed the images from the disney site. I might go back next month and get the idenity disc buckles (80's style), but not sure I want a bright red or blue (glow in the dark as well) target right above my junk. Very Happy

I am going to go out on a limb and say that those posters are bootlegs.

My reasoning for this is, the seller seems to be one of a few who sell the "limited edition" items that one would find in the stores down on the strip in LA. They sell those "Autograph Cards" which are nothing more than a card with a pre-printed autograph as well as seem to have a never ending supply of "limited" items that were handed out at SDCC. I have watched sellers such as these sell many items like these posters, claiming that they are official, rare items, and in doing a bit of homework, come to find that they are nothing more than cheap knock offs that the sellers are making themselves.

Other cases of this would be the so called "laser print" and "USB bracelet" from Tron Legacy that these guys have been selling, claiming that it was a limited item given out at SDCC. A little investigating right after SDCC led to finding that what actually happens is, these guys make up some of the items and take them to SDCC, lingering around the official booths for the flicks, handing out a few "samples" for free. They then begin throwing the items up on ebay, claiming that they are limited collectibles from the Con (pun perhaps intended). They also have a nice business going in making reprints of the posters that are handed out at SDCC. (Such as the Thor or Captain America posters.)

My advice to anyone purchasing "limited" or "rare" items on ebay is to WATCH the items. Do some digging. Ask the seller very, very specific questions and see what kinds of answers you get back. I feel SO BAD for the folks buying these things, thinking that they are getting something so rare when all they are getting is a reprint that some jackass made in the backroom of their store. Even if the item is cool, it's still not "official". And while some unofficial items can have their own allure and coolness factor (See: Geometric Answers), most of them are just worthless fakes.

BUYER. BEWARE!

EDIT: I also just noticed that the seller (who seems very clever in their wordplay in the auction if you know what you are looking for) claims that the poster is on cardstock. Well, would make sense if you were also using said cardstock to make up the autograph cards they are selling. Again, too many factors lead me to believe that these things are posters that the seller is making themselves. STAY AWAY! (Or at least wait until they are going for what they are worth, which is about $5-$10.)

Ok thanks for the info. I kind of thought the deluxe ones looked a little small. I suppose though granted they're the only ones available now, except for the durable flying ones (not really interested in that one as I'm sure it couldn't be modded to include lights), I guess that's what I'll have to settle with.

That's one of the reasons why I am hesitant to buy the Eric Tan prints from ebay resellers because I have no means of inspecting them prior to purchase. I think I would be able to recover the losses since Ebay and Paypal side with the buyer more than the seller in cases like this, but it would still be a massive headache.

It's definitely a Target exclusive. Picked it up today along with the 2 other new action packs, Sam/Clu and Jarvis/Flying Black Guard.

Been searching high and low for this figure and arcade cab and cannot find them at my local target. Not listed on Target.com either. If anyone is willing to pick one up and ship it to me, please let me know.

Thanks.

I'll keep an eye out for you. Honestly I was surprised as hell to find the ones that I did! Searched the other Target's in town and came up empty. Really lucked out finding all the stuff I did this weekend. (Both Tron AND Transformers wise. LOL!)
