I'm writing this on McDonalds wifi, so it seems appropriate.

As a statement to how Disney didn't know what they had in Tron, did anyone notice that there were no fast food tie-ins with this movie? Normally a big budget movie, even ones with rather adult themes like Iron Man and Star Trek, have fast food toys and promotions.

That part always bothered me since it would've been a slam dunk. Instead, Disney looks like it doesn't know if Tron was supposed to be a movie for kids or adults when it could've been both.

Yeah it's kind of funny when you think about it , disney's advertising was trying to sell it to the adults but ended up telling a story more at a kids level. My two 10 year olds ate tron up, they loved it and I think most kids did as well as any adult that's still a kid at heart. To have spent so much effort at the adult level of advertising and then not to do so much as a kid's meal promotion is ridiculous. There is a tron cartoon planned for later this year so maybe then? or for the april release of the dvds?

I'm not sure if it's been noted yet but official photos/info of the tron legacy blu ray/dvd release have been distributed. It looks like you will be able to buy it with the original Tron movie (and now watch the Tron DVD prices take a royal nosedive).

I found out some things for people still looking for the Kevin Flynn disk in the Southern California area. I got back from Disneyland's electronica tonight and after having a delightful conversation with the store clerk I found out they now carry the white disks. The only catch is you have to ask for them. The only ones they put on shelves are the Sam and now Rinzler ones. They said they had a bunch when I asked. Passing along the news.

Has anyone else had a problem with the Clu core figure decapitating? Right out of the packaging when I gently try to turn his head it pops off with the balljoint. So no just sticking the head back on like a G.I. Joe.

I would figure this was a fluke but it has happened twice. I'm hoping the third will be the charm because none of the other figures have had this problem, I can even pop off Rinzler's head and switch in a G.I. Joe head then put Rinzler's head back on no problem.

Also, due to Rinzler's design (in both the large and small figures) he can't sit and I'm displeased by that.

Woohoo!!

I finally nabbed a White Kevin Flynn Disc at Target for 13 and some change!

I'm still scoping to see the figure of Sam jumping into the Tron arcade machine. I don't care about the rest of those small figures save that one.

For what it's worth, the instructions for Clu's Lightcycle have an instruction that appears to state you can switch out the Clu core figure's head for the helmet on the Clu figure the Lightcycle comes with. I don't have the figure so I don't know why you can't put it back in, but it appears it was designed to come out at least.

I fully imagine one of the reasons Disney is pushing the movie so hard is for the massive merchandising potential. These next two years could be when we're inundated with items that are Tron lit, sleek and curved. 。

If anyone else is having problems with the neck ball joint of their figures sticking, try a bit of silicon spray and warming the figure up (like wrapping your hand around it) then gently working it to move.

Also happy to report the third Clu was the charm.

For those that were interested, the UK Recognizers have arrived! Things I didnt know: the construction is way nicer, they light up and make pretty accurate flying sounds. they are frakken massive! I'm having a hard time finding a place to put it!

Still waiting on the light cycles (which i think come with ramps).
