read between the lines

so, i was reading through the forumspring page, and i noticed that this observer fellow has this pattern in the spaces he puts into his writing. at least, they look like spaces to me. Anyway at the risk of looking foolish it looks to me like on each line he pulls something like this

123 123456 123456

of course it doesnt always work out well so sometime you wind up with

123 123456 123456 1234567
or
123 123456 123456 123456 12

to me, it looks important, and when one person told him to grow up and use spaces, he responded with read between the lines.

I dunno, maybe smarter brains than mine can figure out if there is something to this 366 spacing or if its just some uselessness.

or maybe my browser is just funky and there really arent any spaces at all but for some reason they show up for me anyway.

Here's a thought.

All this time we've thought Milo committed suicide to escape Slendy.

What if Milo was brought into the Observer Collective... and his overdose was a means to allow him to shuffle off the ol' mortal coil, and truly become one with them? Could this be the eventual fate of anyone with too much contact with Slendy?

You can blame far too much time spent playing System Shock 2 and the Dead Space series for this particular theory.

I found this idea interesting, so I asked our friend about it:

I guess it doesn't matter since the result was the same, but did Milo take the pills to escape you, or did he want to join you?

So I guess it's a matter of perspective. Milo did try to escape by taking the pills, but that ended up being what they needed him to do to make him a part of the collective.

Sort of when Noah did exactly what Observer wanted him to do, and went to the park alone.

Interesting. Thanks for posing the question! Maybe our unfortunate Milo's ultimate attempt at escape simply played right into their hands.

I wonder if the pills Noah was given in the Token package were less a means of taunting him, and more advising him "You're going to join us sooner or later; might as well save yourself a lot of trouble".

Something like that, yes. But they seem to have misjudged him. Milo finally took his pills like a good boy, but Noah gave his away. He's apparently resisted them longer than they expected.

Considering his penchants for codes and taunting I wouldn't put this idea down just yet.
He has also mentioned mathematics in his answers a few times too, seemingly randomly.
I'm shit with codes though so someone else is gonna have to dig any deeper.

Hey guys, I just asked something to him, and he's given me a pretty interesting response

"If you were given the choice, would you rather ditch all remaining humanity in you, and become a full minion, or regain all of your humanity and forget any of this ever happened?"

"heneedshumanity
withoutitiamnouse"

This means that anyone serving under the Operator/The Tall one/ The Keeper
may not be insane.

Uhhh... Have you seen his videos? Have you read his responses? This is a unit of a collective with total devotion to a faceless being and with next to no emotions.
Your usual definition of insanity? Not exactly, but still not someone with one-hundred percent of their marbles.

Um.. I actually think that you're wrong... His answers are straight forward (unlike Tim, off topic, I know) and pretty much the only thing that sometimes gets confusing is the lack of spaces. Although, he said that it is easier for him not to use them, they are still necessary. Anyways, I'm getting off topic again, the point is, he doesn't seem insane.... He seems wise. Wiser than our mortal minds can comprehend, so we just filter out his answers by saying that he is crazy. By the way, if anyone hasn't noticed yet, be said that he didn't have a camera. That his many observing eyes captured it themselves. This must be another power of theirs, due to their over exposure to the Tall one, they may break cameras. This could be an alternative source of producing videos, and again, this is Marble Hornets, but that could explain why Tim never has a video camera with him. Maybe he is a weaker part of the Collective? Maybe the Tall one is just toying with him, seeing if he is completely worthy.

There are certain questions that Observer seems to ignore. I have asked him twice about Sarah, if Milo really was cremated and why he ignores certain questions.

No response to any of them. Now, I know he is only going to tell us what he wants to know but, I do find what he won't answer very interesting.

He said that some of his answers were unable to be comprehended by us, due to our finite vocabulary, this may be the case with some people who's questions went unanswered.

William Blake is on my mind. Especially since reading all of OBSERVER's posts.

"Some are born to endless night,
Some are born to sweet delight."- Blake

I tried to ask him which one he considered himself, endless night, or sweet delight. I also used a quote from Batman R.I.P., which contains Dr. Hurt's description of himself, and strongly implies that he's the Devil himself or a satanic figure.

"I am the hole in things...the enemy, the piece that can never fit, there since the beginning,"

and asked whether that described him or his master. Hopefully I'll get a response for either one, but so far, neither of my questions have gotten replies. But I thought that they both had relevance to the questions we're trying to ask him. What do you guys think?

Also, another Blake quote from The Marriage of Heaven and Hell also comes to mind

Quote:
"The ancient tradition that the world will be consumed in fire at the end of six thousand years is true, as I have heard from Hell,

For the cherub with his flaming sword is hereby commanded to leave his guard at tree of life, and when he does, the whole creation will be consumed, and appear infinite. and holy whereas now it appears finite & corrupt.

This will come to pass by an improvement of sensual enjoyment.

But first the notion that man has a body distinct from his soul, is to be expunged; this I shall do, by printing in the infernal method, by corrosives, which in Hell are salutary and medicinal, melting apparent surfaces away, and displaying the infinite which was hid.

If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite.

For man has closed himself up, til he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern."

For any Doors fans, that's where The Doors get their name from.

Maybe it's some sort of (even more)twisted "Being John Malkovich" thing? Like Milo is currently part of the collective and his body is a vessel for them, but when he has served his purpose his body will be expunged and they will move on to a different vessel(with his humanity/consciousness still a part of the collective).

I think that's the case. I'm also thinking Milo's mom was part of the collective, which is why the Observer remembers her but can't remember who he was.

Ooh! Interesting theory, but let's take it a step further, shall we? The Observer made it clear that member's of Noah's family are "chosen" because of some special quality. What if that special quality was merely a relationship to Grandpa Karl? And that each family member who they've collected has only been to be able to get at the next?

Essentially, the timeline would be:
-At an undisclosed time, Milo's mother joins the collective. Milo begins being Slenderstalked, and (similarly to Noah) Milo begins hearing from the Observer, never expecting she's his mother (whoa, Star Wars, anyone?).
-Eventually, driven past the point of no return, Milo takes the pills, somehow transferring his mind (or whats left of it) into the Observer collective. The Observer, in the form of his mother would even help with this.
-Throughout the funeral the Observer plays mom for the family, giving a vague story about Milo having committed suicide from overdosing on some pills (sneaky sneaky!) and then being cremated to explain the lack of body. Doesn't want to talk to Noah because it knows he's next on the list.
-After funeral, the Observer moves into a new vessel, Milo's body (whether or not he is alive or actually dead from the pills at this point makes no difference, undead!Milo is just as good as regular Milo for body posession).
Fun side story, Milo's mother is then "expunged" killing her mortal body and only continuing to exist within the collective, explaining why no one can get in contact with her.
-Milo begins stalking Noah, and using DAT RAPE FACE.

SO, if we take my harmless speculation a step further as well the next two steps are:
1. Noah goes back to Boardwalk
2. Noah gets Observerized
3. Noah gets the artifact from Grandpa Karl, as that is what this has been about from the beginning

And the best part is, we know the Observer goes about things in a terribly convoluted way, having to wait for Noah to come to him and the like, just sending him occasional gifts, etc. So this theory actually seems to hold some weight. It/he/she/they would just give some excuse that: "thisisthewayithadtobe" or something.

ALSO, because this isn't wall of text-y enough yet, I asked the Observer, "Yo dog, we heard you liked observing so we put an eye across your eye so you could observe while you observe" but he hasn't responded! I think this is important.

This theory makes the most sense to me right now. While it's not as deep as most of the other trees it really explains a lot of what's happening.

I'm not too sure how the whole observer body transfer system works, but a single form that can only go one way (can't turn back into milo's mom for example) would fit the story nicely...

Don't know about I feel about the one-eyed rape face.... it's a little ridiculous... XD

edit: i don't know if anyone said anything about this (checked the wiki, but not sure if it's updated as much as the EMH one) but you can see the man in the glasses in the first thanksgiving video when noah disappears during the night. (7.27 or so... behind the couch on the right). From what i can tell this is his first appearance on video, and with noah gone from the couch it leads to the idea of noah already caught into the collective conscience. If this was already mentioned.. disregard me.. >>

He's just doing it to scare and intimidate Noah because he's good with computers, apparently. He's probably not a cyclops, he just made that image to emphasize that he is indeed observing noah.
