Most people I know would just eyeball it (if there's not a cloud in the sky, how likely is it that it's going to rain within the next few hours that you're going somewhere?) but it never struck me as particularly odd for them to check the weather. It certainly seems like something some people would do, even if I don't.

I'm appreciating the reviews so far; they're pretty much spot on. I rewatched the old Submissions recently and was blown away by how awful the dialogue/acting is. It's even worse than I remembered. Eek. Noah is also 100% out of character at the beginning, when he speaks and types in that really stilted formal tone that's just poorly aping off J's personality. :X (It would make a certain amount of sense for him to be less personable at the beginning when addressing the audience who he'd be less comfortable with at that point, but he also acts this way with Milo so it's just shit in general.)

I've honestly thought for a while now that Tribe Twelve might work better than Marble Hornets as a commercial horror movie if the crew just remade all the videos up to Night Recording. I personally enjoy Marble Hornets more, but Tribe Twelve is much more "fun" and straightforward and more in line with what mainstream audiences expect and like. (This comes from someone who is a *major* film industry nerd, and it's just an opinion, so don't rip my damn head off. Razz) I think this from just horror history in general but also from personal experiences with showing MH and TT to people. Lots of people I show them to (especially older people) don't understand what's even supposed to be scary in MH.

I actually have a very similar opinion. Tribe Twelve really gets across that the Slenderman is there, he's unnatural, and he's stalking Milo a fair bit quicker than Marble Hornets delivers the same setup, and it has fewer filler entries along the way (well, early on anyhow).

Of course, if someone put a gun to my head and told me to pick which creators would be killed and which series would be erased from existence, I really don't know which I would chose.

[edit] In retrospect, given where I live and the circles I move in, I suppose I've never seen someone say "Hey, let's go to the park, lemme check the weather channel first" because you pretty much know it's going to be raining unless it's already august, so why bother.

I live in Illinois. No matter what the sky looks like, or what the temperature is, it could easily be anything and everything different in two hours or less. xD

I hear similar sentiments from almost everyone. It's like some universal belief that weather where you live is more crazy than elsewhere.
But to attempt to be somewhat on-topic, I like your reviews, NoMoreGaems. Keep it up.

Oh no. Not "more crazy". Just "crazy". Weather is, by its nature, unpredictable, and for the most part, I only take TWC's predictions as guidelines.

I'm really enjoying these reviews. I've been looking for an excuse to go back and re-watch the series from the beginning and you've given me just that. I am in the odd position that I watched Tribe Twelve before watching Marble Hornets, and so my first time into the series I had no knowledge of how Noah's Submissions were almost exact copies of Jay's Entries. Watching them now, I can definitely see that, and the acting is much much worse than I remember (that has definitely improved in the series), but I will say that Tribe Twelve hooked me from the beginning and never let go, where Marble Hornets started to get repetitive and almost boring up until Entry 16.

Don't get me wrong, I love both series, and like NoMoreGaems, I could never choose one over the other, but Tribe Twelve feels like it had a more clear and focussed direction from the beginning, even if some of the early acting and formatting was lousy. To me, the Großmann has always been more frightening than The Operator (with the exception of Entry #26 because, dear god) because the presentation in Tribe Twelve is done so wonderfully, between the visual effects and the "I know he's there, but I can't see him" aspect of it, it's just really frightening. To me, Marble Hornets has become more of a Mystery series with horror elements, where Tribe Twelve is much more a horror series with elements of mystery layered into its story. Both are great for different reasons, but when I turn a corner and half expect to see The Slender Man, it's Tribe Twelve's that my mind sees, not Marble Hornets'.

I suppose they just have different appeals that happen to overlap heavily. On the other hand, it's easier for me to overlook mistakes because I tend to turn up my suspension of disbelief (and, apparently, turn off my brain) when I see something for the first time.

That being said, did Milo remind anyone else about Jay, and who thinks Slender Man ate Liam (playground kid)?

Tempted to talk with my parents about the old house fire again. I want to tape it, but I don't want them knowing. I'll have to be sneaky.

Think we're going to meet Noah's parents soon? This could be interesting...

::fistpumps and credits himself for suggesting house fire investigation to Noah even though it was totally predetermined::

Looks like this series will finally get out of its loop of unhappiness it's been stuck in for a while.
