Oh piss off, you don't even like these series last I remember.

That's not the point. Every major series crossing over in one big clusterfuck, be it subtle or not, is what turned most people off of blogs.

Wah, wah, wah, keep crying and ruining it for the rest of us just because you don't like it.

*sigh*

Aaaaand everyone in the thread regresses to middle school...

Seriously, though, Kempest, rational and intelligent though I believe you to be, this may be one of those scenarios where you've just forgotten to, as Robert Wohl would say, "judge slowly." It seems to have a lot of potential to pan out, at least from my perspective. Prescribing cross-overs as inherently damaging or shark-jumping might be a wee bit short-sighted. Give it a shot. If it blows donkey nuts, we shall band together and whine on the internet with such stridency that God himself will fear to chastise us!

Oh, my bias friend. If you are thinking that this is all happening just for the sake of crossing over, being nothing more than a gimmick, you are sadly mistaken. There is a good reason for it. It's called story progression. And if you can't take a small, subtle reference to another series that helps TribeTwelve and hurts no one in any way, quit posting here and go home. And take your butthurt with you. Wink

Damnit, don't call it "butthurt." I start laughing and can't take it seriously. And I should take it seriously, because Nathan's apparently mad as hell that I won't shut up.

BECAUSE YOU NEVER DO.

Every time I come to read this forum, I always see you whining and crying like a child because you don't get your way or don't like something.

Look, I'm not going to get into a long post about just why this is (thus far) different from the blog-overs, because many of those people deeply despise me right now and I can only poke the bear so many times in any one-week period. Maybe when I get back from my trip out of town tomorrow. But suffice to say I think this is much more oriented towards engaging the viewers of both series, as opposed to engaging users on users and no one else in some sort of kinky, purely insular frottage.

And I'm not against frottage. But in its proper context. By all means, Jeff and Noah can frot away with their tips.

Everyone complaining about the crossover should realize that the crossover is not major enough to necessitate watching the other series. It's more an Easter Egg than anything...similar to how Stephen King puts small references to his other books in his books. For example, in Dreamcatcher, they see a monument about the Loser's Club (which is from the completely unrelated novel It).

You don't actually have to read the other book to fully understand and enjoy the story.

This has been pretty much confirmed on Jeff's (from EMH) out of game blog, and Noah's OOG comment that "A good subtle crossover is better than large shitty one. Keep that in mind, people."

Stop complaining. This isn't going to ruin either of the series.

Cry some more. We're going to have fun with this and you're going to enjoy it whether you like how we do it or not. I know I'm enjoying it. And your anger only makes my enjoyment heighten.

This is not the blog crossovers.

In any way.

I presume this is what is happening with "The Mystic" and all the seemingly "random" people that keep popping up in posts? I remember reading it when I first noticed and being like, who the heck is M? Zero? Huh?

Oh, let's not do a flamewar over this. I think The Kempest is mostly a good guy even if I don't always agree with him and frankly there are times when the things you say make me facepalm, bro. But I don't think you have huge vindictive malice behind them, unlike some people.

Just give it a go.

The SFW-version of what came to mind.

Okay. Think of the blog crossovers as this: Take all these beautiful consumables. Fresh, juicy grapes. A bottle of a nice cider. Swiss chocolate. A Cuban cigar. Kobe beef, just lightly grilled and still juicy.

Got it all? They're all beautiful on their own (though some might not be to your tastes.)

Now put them ALL in a blender until one is indistinguishable from the other, you cannot eat one without also getting a mouthful of alcoholic tobacco beef. Sure you're getting all the same stuff, but the lack of distinctions, and the lack of free choice to pick and choose? That offends some people. Plus some of them just clearly don't work together, and shouldn't be put together.

Think of this crossover as a hearty beef stew, combined with delicious mashed potatos. They are both amazing, yet entirely distinguishable from one another, with their own distinct personalities. But when you eat them TOGETHER, that's when the magic happens. The only people who can possibly be offended by this pairing are also the people who like to separate their peas from their corn, and god forbid their chips touch their potato and gravy otherwise someone will HANG.

Fuck I'm hungry.

My initial reaction to the parent interview was to cringe. It sounded like they were reading their lines as they went. I hope they were actually his parents and he didn't pay two people to act that badly....Anyway I really like both stories and I think a crossover is cool, but I can understand some people's frustration with EMH. I got into the whole Slenderthing only a few months ago and it often feels like I'm the new person eating lunch with a group of people who've been freinds for so long they almost have their own language, and EMH really intensifies that feeling since so much of their information seems to come to us through other players. Also, I must say I feel Noah may be the sexiest person to be stalked by Slenderman so far. There's just something about Jewish boys...

A lesser man would say LOL I TROL U about now, but I'm just gonna straight up admit it: I'm pissed over nothing. Bowing out 'til I calm down.

Probably be on later to discuss this like a goddamn adult. Laughing
