Who is this Liam kid?

He was mentioned in the livestream, interview, and on the formspring a time or two. Kid died in a house fire, and they named the playground at Victor Park after him.

Fires, man.

This is kinda reminding me of the Troper Tales page for Candle Cove, with its running "And then it burned down" gag.

Spoiler for OOG comment.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Maybe it's just me, but Secret Parent Interview kinda took me out of it. I'm assuming those were Adam's real parents and he gave them lines to read... but the acting and over-emphasized hand gestures just really made me cringe. I'm sorry if this seems over-critical, but it is an honest opinion.

No shame,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the Acting! was kinda cheesy.
I can overlook it for the high quality, depth of immersion, and sick effects easily. Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

ACTING!

Actually, the acting didn't bother me so much. From the way people were complaining, I thought it was gonna be the worst shit ever, but really,, it reminded me of all the dry reads I did in theater. Also, I was looking for Slendy, so I was otherwise occupied. Heh.

Dear all you Roger Eberts out there:

1. Yes, they were really my parents, not Hollywood actors.
2. They wanted to be in the video, so I obliged them.
3. I can't help their acting, I don't know anyone else who could play my parents better than...well, my parents.
4. You should be paying attention to the story, not the acting.
5. Appreciate that they were willing to act in the video at all.
6. Cry some more, you saw Slender Man. :I

Don't respond to whiners and complainers. Down that path lies madness.

Fair enough. I was actually gonna say the hand's were a little extreme but it would have been a much more boring if they were motionless. Interesting series of events nevertheless.

Adam Rosner has an extreme and intense hatred of my immersion Evil or Very Mad

In all faux-seriousness, though, I found the acting... generally on par with the usual Tribe Twelve performances. I certainly don't mean anything unkind to Nimbus, and I do love the series, but... well, most all the series run on very amateur acting, and many people wouldn't have it any other way.

So is the #2. rule of fight club that you ignore the 2nd rule of fight club?

Madness and 2080.

There's always been Grim Jokers people complaining about TT, and there's always been people defending it. Please, let us do the defending.

Any work offered up for public consumption will be critiqued. And indeed, it should be. I see no problem with you putting your own parents in the video, and I see no particular reason why the acting ought to be stellar, but that certainly doesn't mean that I feel obliged to hold my tongue about it. Some of it was sort of silly, and that's okay. It doesn't mean that there are not other aspects of your series that I don't enjoy, just that I found that particular video somewhat chuckle-worthy. As to this...

Quote:
4. You should be paying attention to the story, not the acting.

I can't thank you enough for going out on a limb and doing something to entertain me, something that you've provided to me and others like me for free, but (all due respect) once you hit that upload button, your ability to dictate how I or anyone else "should" enjoy your work goes out the window. Indeed, if I were meant to only focus on the story, rather than on the acting, seems like maybe a text-based storytelling method might be more appropriate.

I say all of this because I enjoy your series, and I don't want to see you lose viewers, so, were I you (and, of course, I am not), I'd leave the critics be. Some people will love you, some people will hate you, and some of us will litter the spectrum in between. Tackling any of those responses glibly makes you look bad.

Again, duder, thanks for the free entertainment. I hope you'll keep it up. I'll keep watching.

FWIW I did like the Slendy cameo this time, especially the handwave-disappearance; nicely done.

But yeah, criticism of acting = totally legitimate, even if it's meant to be all about the story. After all, the acting's how the story's conveyed, right?
