 		wrong time to go out of town.

handwave thing was fantastic. after watching the videos but before coming here i didn't think there would be a giant crossover. like angorapocolypse, if you follow both series, your experience is enriched. if you don't, you'll still be just fine. like reading the harry potter books before seeing the movies. or the guy at baseball games that brings his radio to listen to the commentary while in the park. or the little bubble trivia nick-at-night used to do with the brady bunch and other old shows

props to whoever said the parents sounded like the sopranos 15 pages back.

and yeah. "sidestory" feels kind of demeaning. nothing wrong with calling it that way back when, but now it's silly.

maybe we should make another thread? make the nature trail be the end of "part 1" and these 3 the beginning of "part 2"? kind of makes sense since there was a couple months between.

Nah I think it's fine as it is, but I think everyone agrees that it's more than a sidestory at this point. If response really, really picks up, then we may want to go the EMH route and make a "Tribetwelve 2012" thread next year.

Actually, after reading that I think we may need to at least edit the thread title for 2012.

 		Actually, it's kind of weird seeing "side story" on any of these threads at all. MH is in its own forum; what "side" is really being told? They're all full-fledged Slenderman stories after all.

 		I feel like the phrase "side story" started in a meta rather than a narrative way. Meaning a side story for the community, not a side story of MH. It's just that we used the phrase for ANY new story, not knowing which would hit it off big and which would flounder and burn out.

 		Technically speaking, TT can be construed as a side story as of the nature trail video. By putting an operator symbol in that episode and a purple tape-EMH logo on a mysterious box in the newer ones, the continuities of the big three have been linked together, at least in TT. Thus, one might see TT as happening elsewhere in the original MH universe.

I understand that, but it's still labeled in the context of MH not being a side story. And yet, even if we pretend all these series are happening in the same universe - which would at least justify the label - it still implies that only the MH group are allowed to be main characters. Everyone else is just a side show. It suggests that all of these are, by default, mere diversions for us to while the time between MH updates. Or worse, series that only exist at the behest of the MH team.

Don't get me wrong, I think MH is great. But I don't think it should be considered the ringmaster. It's just one of many equally important stories, bad or good.

Totheark is a side story. HABIT and the FRA shenanigans are side stories.

He referred to TT as a 'side story' in his interview, but I think it's just the nomenclature of the vlogs. It doesn't even really mean that TT is a side story at all, it means that it's a separate series inspired by MH and nothing much else.

 		Regarding the whole fiasco about should Nimbus be allowed to post here or no: I think if we just designate someone to post some variation of the "deal with it" shades-falling gif every once in a while, nobody will know the difference.
