You mean like this?

Nimbus beat everyone to it. Maybe you should go watch There's a Monster in my Closet.

Hey Uh...idk if this is the right place to ask, I searched couldn't find a place to ask so I figured I'd just ask here:

Is Tribe Twelve really any good? I see mixed feelings about it everywhere. I tried watching awhile ago but....honestly the HORRIBLE acting made me want to deafen my ears...>> I also do not like the fact that the creator is open about being the creator. That just pisses me off, cuz it ruins the game and the realism of it. I heard the effects are good but really, just watching his crossover with Everyman hybrid made me so angry to hear that horrible acting again, and have to hear it cuz it was part of the storyline... >< Is the story worth ignoring that? I think there's too much slenderman in there too...seriously dilutes his terror to me (I read the transcripts when I couldn't take the terrible acting). Just want an opinion.

Well, Inuranchan, it's really personal opinion, but I'm actually quite fond of TT. It does start off a little wonky, sure, but it gets better pretty fast, and it's honestly one of the few series that have literally made me push myself away from my computer in absolute terror. I know it's not for everyone, but no series is, and I do think you should at least give it a shot.

As for the creator being open about it, well, brush it off. He wants to interact with fans as himself, not his character. Compartmentalize your brain so that the story is separate from the creator and you'll be just fine. Smile

First, please type in proper English. I have a headache reading your paragraph or whatever that is. Second, don't ask us, watch it yourself. Sure, the first submission videos have bad acting, the creator even said so himself. But after that, everything begins to get better, the story, acting, and even effects. TribeTwelve is definitely up there in my top 5 (it's #2). That EMH crossover video with the envelope had some of his best acting, and some of the best in any series I've seen actually, he looked genuinely confused and afraid, only his parents acted a bit obviously, but they're not hollywood actors. You're supposed to be paying attention to the story! And no, there is not too much Slender Man, and even if there is, it's GOOD Slender Man. Would you rather have few bad slender man sightings, or many good ones? Yeah, I thought so.

And if your this is really your first post on UnForum, show some damn respect. Confused

Really? Your first post and you rip on a vlog you've never seen? What is so wrong with creators identifying themselves OOG? It's not like they turn to the camera in game and say "Why hello there fans, you can add me at my real facebook account under the name so-and-so". Jeff from EMH has identified himself OOG and interacts with the fans, and the I know the girls from TJA are constantly interacting with the fans as well. You don't get pissed off at red carpet events for movies because "OH NO THERE ARE THE ACTORS BUT THAT ONE DIED IN THE MOVIE THEY RUINED MY IMMMMMMMMEMRSION BAWWWWWWWWWWW".

TribeTwelve has terrific acting, and the last time I checked, a fantastic and still frightening slender man. It's one of the top 3 and has been for a long time, and if you don't like it? Oh well. Don't like the crossover/cameo stuff? Then don't bother with it. Give it a chance before you rip it.

This is a great place to ask. We here at Unfiction try to provide an informative and helpful cache of information about all sorts of ARGs, including Tribe Twelve.

Try not to take this personally.

Oh, it's wonderful. It's got something for just about everyone, from comedic moments where Noah is doing funny things like stabbing bushes, all the way through to genuinely frightening videos featuring the Observer, and occasionally Slenderman.

Inuranchan wrote:

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps next time you want some entertainment, you'll choose another venue for said entertainment, perhaps one where the phrase "you get what you pay for" flits about in your head for a while.

Inuranchan wrote:

Well, that's just silly. Do you just not watch regular television, then?

Inuranchan wrote:

Okay, this is really the sticking point, the one thing that you said that really sealed the deal. If you hadn't said this, I might have just let it go and walked away. But no, you had to go there.

Do you really think that something featuring a n-foot tall (where n is a number between 8 and twenty) eldritch abomination with obvious teleportation abilities in direct contravention of the laws of physics is anything remotely approaching "realistic"? I mean, hell, do you watch the X-Files and honestly fear for Fox Mulder's life? Or do you accept the fact that David Duchovny is in no mortal danger?

Also, knowing who's behind the creation and writing of a game does nothing to change the outcome, and really, if it affects your enjoyment of the game, that's your problem, not the creator's.

Inuranchan wrote:

So you're angry because you have no control over the storyline? Welcome to that largely ineffectual state we call "nerd rage". I'm sure you'll get over it.

But seriously where do you get off essentially proclaiming that Jeff and Nimbus shouldn't do what they want with their series? Are you secretly their boss?

I doubt it, quite seriously.

Only if you can also ignore your own pretentious attitude.

So you admit that you haven't actually watched the whole series, but there's "too much Slender Man" in there for you? I wonder, do you watch Marble Hornets? Because the big guy shows up a lot more there than he does in Tribe Twelve.

Are we through? Okay...

Yes, TT is worth watching. Yes, the acting is sometimes bad. Yes, the story is pretty good. No, Adam doesn't care about immersion (nor, really, do a lot of we humble forum dwellers). No, there's not too much Slenderman. Yes, the effects are cool.

Go take a look. If you don't like it, stick with EMH (the plot of which is in no way dependent upon TT), which is great for other reasons.

Really, it's not like it's going to take hours out of your life. Just watch some videos in your free time. It's, like, seven minutes per video that would otherwise spend on watching videos of skateboarders slamming nut-first into various and sundry obstacles (or am I revealing too much about my non-ARG YouTube habits?)

...because he totally posts ingame on here, yeah right. He hasn't broken immersion for me once yet. So what if he posts in this forum, its oog. True immersion is dead anyway, and has been dead since MH ended their first season and the spin-offs started. Confused

Just wanted to clear up a few disputes.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the recent radio interview, Adam said that TT was originally intended to be an homage to Marble Hornets, not really its own vlog. This is why we see a lot of overused Slendy stuff, including the appearance of the Operator symbol several times. He was even intending to end it with the same "20 dollaz" ending we see in his "There's a Monster in my Closet" parody video.

However, the guest who started this thread a year ago called it a "side story", and people began giving the first 6 submissions a lot of crap about copying MH, to the point that Adam decided to completely step up his game. Starting with the Night Recording video, he added a ton of new elements to the story, including the Observer and his corresponding symbol. Oh, and HI-DEF ANIMATED SLENDACLES.

So yeah, that's why the first six entries are hard to watch, but it's gotten a lot better now, so it's worth watching. As for the parent recording?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
They're his real parents. I'm sure none of your parents are movie stars either. Wink

I'm not sure, in light of this, what part of my post you take issue with.

I don't really think the acting is that bad at all tbh. I only really noticed it after seeing people here bring it up, and even then it doesn't really bother me. The story's great, the editing is amazing, etc.

Thank you! I mean geeze I just wanted an opinion on the vblog, I wasn't even "ripping" on it. I expressed two things I dislikes about it and the fans rip me apart :/ This is why I never made an account before..

Anyway, thank you for your opinion. I'll check it out.

@JasonSFSD From reading the transcripts I could already tell the acting would be bad (the speaking in the script for isn't very good, not very convincing to me) but the first few videos just cemented my thought on this. I pay attention to acting in movies and such so, that did bother me. I still wanted to give it a chance tho, just because it's slenderman.

@Cougar Draven Woah. Look, I was not at all trying to be pretentious. If I came off as such, it was not my intention in the least. What annoyed me was that he didn't even try to hide his OOG accounts online he basically gave em away. For ARGs I thought the point of them was to convince your audience that what happens in their vlogs is actually happening to them. Therefore they try to keep their personal accounts secret. Excuse me for hearing the wrong information. The slenderman ARGs are the only ones I watch, I rarely participate I just enjoy the ride.
The Marble Hornets videos has more videos, it's only logical they have more slenderman. The series had been around for much longer. Granted I am told I missed a few slenderman sightings in the first season, but through transcripts (which I'm sure you know point out exactly where he is) I see he is there way more often for such a short lived series. Again, excuse me for thinking having the horror figure of your story constantly in scene after scene makes him less scary and more predictable. I guess that's just a personal thing for me.

@HealthyAshes First off, I did use proper English. The only time I did not was when I said the word "cuz" and for that, I apologize my iPod had auto correct. I do not own a laptop, and my computer is being used at the moment so this is all I have to type here for now.
Second, I just wanted to hear an opinion of it. I did want to watch it, but I was curious to hear some slender-fans opinion of it. Why? I do not wish to miss out on a slender vlog I did not enjoy due to the bad acting in the beginning of the series if the story is worth it. I'm sorry I wanted to know if I should try to change my opinion of the series.
And no I would not like to see a bad slenderman over a good one, though I was probably one of the only people who didn't mind the fake-slendy in the beginning of EMH, but as I said to someone else I guess it's just me who feels more of a horror character makes it more predictable and less scary.

@rexlord Sir, I was not ripping on this series. I did give it a chance and I didn't like it due to the acting and somewhat predictable nature. I watched up the entry where he visits his German relative who speaks barely any English. At that point I decided the story wasn't worth the bad acting. I came here to ask for an opinion as I've noticed it has a few fans and also a few people like me who feel the acting deters their interest. I didn't want to miss out on a good story just because I didn't like the acting so I decided to ask others opinions on it.
As I said to someone else, the way and ARG was explained to me I assumed the characters were expected to make an effort to not allow others to know they are part of this to make the viewer believe it's actually occurring. That was mis-information I recieved on my part I guess. Still no reason to lay into me like that. I didn't make a personal crack at you at all or any of you ripping me apart for having an opinion, based on mis-information or not, so ripping into me is not necessary. I'm probably going to delete this account after this if possible or just leave it here unattended. Thanks for your opinion on the show by the way.

@Maychorian ok Smile

@Dixie_Wolf First of all, thank you so very much for being one of two to treat me with kindness for having a different opinion. I was hoping to get a response like this, an actual opinion and response to the series. I certainly intend to check it out, but I think my only participation will be through YouTube. ^^;
I could easily ignore that for the series and I did, I was just expressing my dislike of his choice to do so. I understand it, I mean I would choose to interact with my fans as well. I was just under the impression creators of ARGs were not meant to do so, that was information that I was told and I now see they were wrong. Anyway, thanks for your opinion. Smile

Sorry for this long ass reply. Thought it'd be better to do this than several replies. So, thanks for the many negative responses towards me and the few that actually gave me opinions on the show rather than their opinions on me. My question was answered, I will not be back to bother anyone. Later
