I'm talking about real chess. I thought the pawn becoming another piece thing happened in normal chess too.

 		I think this Zeke character knew Mary. Maybe he was friends with her when they were younger, and they (along with a group of friends) were stalked by Slender Man. Sounds like either the rest of the group disappeared or died, and Zeke and Mary got out of it somehow. But now Zeke somehow got reinvolved, and when he said "You got out. Stay out" (or something along those lines), he's trying to tell Mary not to get involved if she wanted to live.
