 		My theory:

George Lucas is the Observer. He's waited in the shadows until the right moment to sell off Lucasfilm to Disney, and part of the contract involved Noah's imminent demise, along with the Star Wars franchise.

I tried a base 64 decoder, said it wasn't long enough.

Anyway, my vote is that Karl reveals himself as either Mr. Scars or Persolus and takes off the Observer's head with a shotgun.

He'll probably just grow it back but still...
