Noah is Firebrand and here is how i know this shit.

While he was not giving us the full answer, he did leave key-bits of information. he told us that we could call Firebrand his friend. he said that after what he's seen, he could confirm that he will be in the collective.

while under the observer's control, Noah went ape-shit psycho, killed Kat and attacked Sarah. but the one thing i found truly horrifying, was the cold smile that chilled me to the bones you could see at 10:41.

as for the catharsis, at 10:50, Noah said that he saw how the observer looked, always happy. maybe if he joined the collective, he would always be happy and smiling all the time.

Then there is that fire that happened 14 years ago Noah and Katie were the only ones there. it could be that the fire was the very beginning to Noah's problem. because since the Fire, he was branded as the collective's target. hence Firebrand. If this doesn't make sense. i don't know what does.
