 		That's the same video that's been circulating since Saturday night. I know it may seem crappy to those who were able to be there in attendance. To those of us stuck at home, it was nice to at least get a glimpse. Smile

Ok, so the rumor *was* true, Daft just canceled (at least according to this blurb on Tomopop):

"While Daft Punk was scheduled to perform a surprise concert, which they canceled, they did still show up in toy form!"

 		Not sure about that surprise concert claim though: it was announced before CC that DP was busy in the recording studio and had no plans for a concert, surprise or otherwise.

I know, but what happened on Saturday was weird. I was actually away from the con, but I heard the DJ on 94.9 saying they heard a rumor that Daft Punk was playing on Saturday, and that they were sending people down to check it out. Then, we called someone on the floor and sent them over to the Tron booth. They had no info at the booth, but said they'd been barraged with that question all day.

Then that piece comes out and says they were supposed to play, but canceled. That also fits with the tweet from #operationtron:

"San Diego will remember the name Kevin Flynn – we will make sure of it."

Because while the event was cool, it was hardly something that would make the whole town remember. Doing a slightly better version of what happened last year was hardly worth bragging about. Sure, it's marketing, but it really seemed like there was more supposed to happen.

It makes more sense that something was supposed to happen, but didn't. Especially because...why set up Flynn's Arcade and then do NOTHING with it on Saturday night? They started breaking down at 7pm.

Plus, the denials seemed odd. Sure, they were absolute, but if you were going to have a surprise concert, would you do anything other than deny it?

Thanks for that link. I didn't really buy those rumors until I heard about the whole "showing Tron app at Disney booth for entrance to secret off-site event Saturday night" thing. Once I heard that, I assumed they'd be there and was surprised when I barely even heard about said event (I think they just handed out tickets to Flynn's?). Even if this isn't totally true, it would shed light on a weird situation. I'm a member at a DP forum as well and nobody knew what to believe haha.

just saw this on youtube. This is what we got to be a part of during the panel...with skywalker sound recording us..we were told we will be heard in the movie!

yea i lost my voice afterwards. the funny thing is ..how many people were offbeat. this is like counting measures in music .. 1....2......3.....4.... most were off a second.. but it was really funny.. especially DEREZ DEREZ
