I've decided that I'm just going to settle for G4's live coverage of Comic-Con, as I've done since 2007's con. Would it be possible for someone to do a live stream of the Tron Panel via Ustream?

I don't think they allow filming at the panels, and to ask someone to do it would be asking them to be thrown out. They might also have their recording device confiscated, and possibly be banned from CC. That's probably why the first appearance of the Tron teaser was shot from the hip in 2008.

I like Jeff Bridges costume, something that I could definitely wear because the other Tron suits are just way out of my league. Looks like finding some better photos are in order for a new Halloween costume.

To be specific, they allow filming of panels, but not of any footage shown at the panels. So people talking is fine, but a new trailer or footage wouldn't be.

Dunno if people are interested, but I work at Michaels (the arts and crafts store)... we sell these tubes of glow bracelets for $1, 15 per tube. Activated, and in a dark room (like Hall H generally is), they look vaguely circuit-like or data-disc-esque. I've purchased a TON of them for various projects, and intend to bring a whole bunch to the midnight showing in December... would you folks like them to play with for the Hall H show? Wear 'em, give 'em out to kids or other FL'ers... your call.

PM me if interested. Smile

Correct. No filming of the screens. If you do get caught filming, they will walk you over to the tech booth and have the A/V guys wipe your disk, tape or whatever.

I was going to try and record the panel (except the footage of course) on my iPod. I need to check if there's some way to transfer videos from my iPod to the computer to share it.

And as for twilight being there(because I know a lot of people don't want that happening again), I don't think it will. Seeing as the third movie's already out and filming for the fourth doesn't start until fall, I don't see it happening. Very Happy Plus twilight's got it's own convention now, so lets hope they keep it out of Comic-Con, where all the cooler stuff is. Wink

TRON LEGACY PANEL: Thursday, July 22nd, 11:15 AM

Wasn't sure if this has been mentioned yet…

Comic-Con's Thursday schedule is up and TRON: Legacy is the second panel in Hall H! http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci10_prog_thu.php

Quote:
11:15-12:45 Walt Disney Pictures: TRON: Legacy— Returning for an unprecedented third year to the fans and convention that started it all, Walt Disney Pictures is pleased to present a special insider look at the upcoming TRON: Legacy. Panelists include filmmakers and talent from the film: director Joe Kosinski, producers Sean Bailey and Steven Lisberger, and cast members Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen, and Bruce Boxleitner. The discussion, moderated by Patton Oswalt, is set to include exclusive glimpses of the film, as well as a Q&A involving all panel participants, along with special surprise guests. Hall H

See you guys in line Thursday morning! (Though I bet some are considering lining up Wednesday night, hehe Wink)

And luckily, no Twilight in that room, that day... the only panel that I see that could really cause problems, crowd-wise, is The Expendables at 4:45. As I said before, I'll probably be in line around 7:30 or 8... most likely in either Flynn Lives gear, or as a loyal Encom employee (heh heh).

Do we want to plan an impromptu FL activity inside the con? Say, after the trailer (that we all assume we're going to see) plays? Stand up, shout Flynn Lives, wave some signs, then sit down shut up and watch the rest of the panel? Very Happy

Also, on a slightly more serious note... we've been having several small earthquakes here in Southern California, since the big one on Easter Sunday. There was one just yesterday afternoon. They're short and not very violent at all, but for out-of-town people, they can be very frightening...and when you've got a lot of out-of-towners, in an unfamiliar, confined space, that can lead to panic. Please, be aware of your surroundings, and don't freak if the ground starts rumbling! (Besides, if it is The Big One, we're pretty much screwed anyway).

lmao Earthquake etiquette for out-of-towners.
Best piece of advice is to follow the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy... "DON'T PANIC!"
We have these things all the time and they rarely do any damage or hurt anyone. If someone's going to be hurt it'll most likely be due to panic. Remaining calm helps those around you remain calm. It'll be over within 30 seconds (at the most) and you'll have a fun story to tell people back home.

Actually, us locals consider them to be kinda fun! It's like an unexpected free "E-ticket" ride at Disneyland. So sit back and enjoy the ride! Wink
