"Somewhere Under The Rainbow"
in the episode with Maddie Hayes, first it was buried but then

"Somewhere Under the Rainbow"

Thanks, both for the correct title and the original pointer to the episode.

In that show, the gold was buried on the beach (under the bridge).

Then after a wild chase, and some deception, it was kept in a storage locker at the airport and a key transferred the cache. The key had a number on it (but I would have to rewatch the episode to see if the number can be made out).

I personally vote that it is unrealistic to actually think they buried a chest.

And so instead I think we are looking for a hidden key.

I've read the FAQ and parsed the language and would find such a solution totally consistent with the venture and the precise language used. It, moreover, is interesting to consider that those bottles folks were so dubious about might fit in. That is, they announced that they Captain had dug up the treasure and rehid it. That's exactly what happened in "Somewhere Under the Rainbow" in Moonlighting. The lady client who thought she was a leprechaun had hidden in the underground vault in Maddie's living room (finding that consistent with the gold being buried). But then unbeknownst to Maddie (and Bruce Willis) had moved it to the airport locker.

So I would just recommend that people pick up any keys they see. :0)

I think it is not realistic to think that they could bury it in New York City -- it would lead to too many practical problems.

anagram - brainstorming
window sele

I believe you would want to anagram "window sele" rather than window sill.

For example, "in low weeds" with another anagram

"cache item tied to tree"

So if I were walking New York on a beautiful day, I would be looking for a key tied to a tree located in low weeds.

Crow's Nest

Has anybody turned up anything solid about a possible Crow's Nest in NYC? Do we believe the treasure is buried or hidden at the "Crow's Nest"? I think I have found this Crow's Nest and just want to see if anybody else was on the same trail I was so we could team up. Thanks!

someone's brainstormed suggestion of Furlong referring to Ed
fun coincidence about "You've gone too far!"

Report: Edward Furlong's estranged wife gets temporary restraining order
August 17, 2010 | 3:14 pm

Did Mel Gibson ignite a summer trend? Apparently young John Connor might have fallen for the cellphone voicemail recording trick as well.

TMZ is reporting that Edward Furlong, who played the boy who would save the world in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," was hit with a temporary restraining order on Friday because he "left some vicious and threatening voicemails [and text messages] for his estranged wife," Rachael Kneeland.

"There's an urban legend that's gone around until no one is sure who it happened to, or if it happened at all. It was late one night, a few years ago, when a young man was walking through Union Square Park. He suddenly felt someone behind him, their hands over his eyes. When he turned in surprise, there was Bill Murray, his creased face leaning in close. Bill whispered, "No one is ever going to believe you," and then just walked away."

monoclesmile (5 minutes ago) ---- refers to Old Spice commercial
Hi Reddit! ---- refers to a news/review site
mrbabyman (8 minutes ago) ---- a prominent tweeter and Diggs top submitter, one tweet answered by an Old Spice video
This is definitely a hoax. They arent even real people.
There only puppets.
twitterer143 (8 minutes ago) ---- handle does not exist on Twitter, but similar to Mulligan's handle (143crowsnest)
It's a hoax. My cousin knows the guy who made this video. Cool ninja tho.
youralldumb (23 minutes ago) ---- somebody uses this handle to make comments various places
It was a soundstage on mars.

So are these just references to associate their videos with well-known ones, or is there something more here?

Things we know Bill Murray does in New York
-Rides the L Train
-Bartends
-Probably does all sorts of weird things like that to transplant hipster (and pirates)

Cool. If it had happened a few months ago, I would have thought it might be the real clue, but I think this is too recent to be it. On the other hand, this video was awfully short... Re-shot on short notice???

Bill Murray = Groundhog Day...

The hot dog could also reference ghostbusters and caddy shack...

Union square park is interesting.

And so is the fact that Mulligan chose that 'urban legend' over some of the other 'no one will ever believe you' stories.

And I see a resemblance of FaFa to that Bill Murray nemesis in: Caddy Shack.

About WeLostOurGold.com

welostourgold.com is a treasure map. There is a wooden chest buried somewhere within the five boroughs of New York City, and it is filled with $10,000 in U.S. currency. If you want it, you can decode the videos presented on this website. If you find it, it's all yours.\

this is from about section of website..\ and is the reason i disagree with above post

i also still believe people are ahead of themselves thinking we are closer than we are it took us 2 episode to get outta the park and another one just to get on the train i also believe the 4th episode i think was shot out of order and most recent because i believe they realized how lost everyone was lookin for this treasure.

ps i also believe i know where the treasure is buried

what it means for it to be buried underground
brainstorming the meaning of the Maddie Hayes name

Panzone explained:

-------------

As I mentioned, Maddie Hayes and the woman who had the pot of gold had a discussion about the requirement that it be buried. Maddie explained that in the United States, the custom was to bury it a bit differently -- and she went to her floor and lifted up the door to a safe on the floor. In other words, the same issue was presented there and resolved with some trickiness. I think an underground storage locker in a subway, if such a thing exists (I'm skeptical) would fill the requirement nicely. Are there underground lockers at bus stations? Are there long term storage units that are underground? What is underground and yet has a modest monthly rental?

Above all, we know the Captain likes trickiness.

Burying actual chest would raise all sorts of legal issues -- for example, if you were to find it on someone's land, what rights would the owner of the property have?
