new to the thread but not the hunt...

i can offer my thoughts and driving skills. would very much like to crack this case. pretty good with puzzle-solving, but i can't do it on my own. im not a greedy person, so the more the merrier. FYI, wherever the gold might be buried, i can make it there in 20 mins flat (traffic or no) in any direction. let's just say i always wanted to be a nyc cab driver...kidding. aside from that, i have to say, you guys rock..fellowtraveler, you are the man!!!....i got a little tired from reading around page 26 so i decided to jump to the front and say my piece. BTW, what happened to tammyrichards?? i thought she/he was very influential.

is there a summary of everything that was gathered, perhaps on another thread?
ex. what is def and what isn't?
aside from random thoughts, clues and ppl like me writing unnecessary things.
anything concrete, or is that to broad of a question right now?

sorry if im coming across a little silly, but i do want to help in any way that i can.

if theres a specific thing or place you would like me to checkout, just say the word.

Leslie Sebastian Charles

Is the birth name of rocker Billy Ocean. Born 1950, from Trinidad. 3 US #1 songs: Caribbean Queen (no more love on the run), Get outta my dreams and into my car, There'll be sad songs (to make you cry).

I couldn't find anything for Al Lucovich. I tried Luckovich, Lucovitch, Luckovic, Lucovic, Lucavich, Luckavich, Lucavic, luckavic, also with Hal, Allen, Allan, Albert, and Alfred.

BrooklyNYC: Welcome to the hunt and the forums and thank you for the compliment. There isn't a "solved" clue thread, but I might make one later on, or more likely just add a post summarizing the clues in bullet point fashion in this thread where I have been posting the transcripts.

jrc: Given the puppetmasters' penchant for B-grade horror films from the 1980s it could be Hal Vukovich.

Hm, maybe. I wouldn't say Terminator was a B movie though. Do they say Lucovich or Vukovich? I can't tell, with my ears. I did think I heard Hal though.

Ignore Crothers hand

I think that having his hand chopped off might be telling us to ignore his hand in the regular game. So it would be OK that there is no interpretation of the K-8. Of course we should still try to find one, in case.

Episode 4 clues after 5?

The fact that the puppet has a wooden prosthetic while giving the clues in episode 4 I think means that those numbers are only significant down the line, given that he has his hand chopped off the episode after in 5.

And, how about this for the flop cards interpretation...
Take the Q train into Brooklyn (Kings Borough) 6 stops and your at Church Ave ("HOLY" Mackerel) but then 8 of diamonds?

Whats the the Cortland 5 ports 4 ports clue about? Anyone know?

lyrics to Tom Jones' Delilah
this is Black Tom's favorite song

I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadow of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she decieved me I watched and went out of my mind

My my my Delilah
Why why why Delilah
I could see, that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free

At break of day when that man drove away I was waiting
I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more

My my my Delilah
Why why why Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take any more

Bully

Mulligan is a rookie with a Cinderella story. In NY sports, Victor Cruz is the most recent rookie with a rather incredible first start. with the Giants. Also this doesn't fit very well, but Jim Morris was the subject of a movie "The Rookie" and had a Cinderella story. He was first drafted by the Yankees, but never played for them. He left baseball, tried out later in life, made the majors. He ended his short career pitching at Yankee Stadium with the Devil Rays in 2000.

Crothers is a bully. That is Teddy Roosevelt's catchphrase, another reference to this president. Does anyone recognize the hat on the decapitated puppet as anything in particular? Just looks plain beige to me. I have been wondering what the 3 straps around Crothers' left arm are, maybe they are 3 of the 15 stolen WPPPT bracelets.

The Captain is the man that refuses to lose. A quote from the movie "3: The Dale Earnhardt Story" is, ""The winner isn't the man with the faster car, it is the man that refuses to lose".

Tom is the veteran who makes his own luck. Harvey Dent is the character in "The Dark Knight" who makes his own luck. I'm not sure if that is a quote.

As long as I'm chatting with myself on the board, I thought I'd throw out this one site I found after talking with someone in this group about the Unisphere being the probably silver coast of Africa that Ep 2 was talking about. Well I read a number of posts on here about it when I was catching up on the forum earlier.

I bring it up now because of that non-poker card in this Episode. Take the idea or leave it:

http://mommypoppins.com/newyorkcitykids/go-fish-where-to-go-fishing-in-new-york-city

According to this (and many other places), Flushing Meadows (home of the Unisphere) is a wonderful place to go fish...

I didn't focus on the mackerel so much as the holy part. it's dressed like the Pope who you could also trace back to Flushing Meadows. Smile

Cards

The Captain shoots the dealer because he had previously dealt him 7-deuce four hands in a row. 7-2 would be the worst hole cards because they cannot form a straight, are low, and are not paired. So referring to them as a bad hand makes sense. However, later, he is cheering for 2 and 7 because one of those will give him a straight.

Mulligan's Holy Mackerel could be an H, but I am more inclined to think either M for Mackerel or just F for fish, if it is a letter clue. Mulligan calls it a mackerel, the narrators refer to it as a fish. Mulligan says it is "a good card" (although he does not seem very discriminating). Some relation to Church St makes sense maybe, or since it is not just a fish, but "a Go-Fish card", maybe it refers to actually fishing somewhere.

Tom switches jacks for queens (same suits). The J train runs to Queens, of course, but since queens are so obvious, I don't weight that much. The Captain was burning two queens (not the same suits as Tom's later hand) and said he hated his cards. Since a pair of queens would not be a bad hand, clearly he hates queens, or Queens. If they had been the same suit as Tom's hand later, maybe he would be saying that he hated them because Tom won with them, but I don't think that is it.

Crothers K-8. Kate??

Terminator and Evil Dead. Lots of homage to dead things, how wonderfully apt to go with the Dead Man's Hand. I won't be surprised to find more of these. Perhaps not as well-hidden as Apocalypto was the other week, but really, isn't anyone else in love with what else they've tucked away in these videos besides clues? Smile
