photo recon of inside of Belvedere Castle wanted
digital images

srk,

Here are some random further observations about Central Park and a request.

I'm not current on the last hours of messages and so forgive me if this doesn't fit with where things are.

If you did photo recon of Belvedere Castle and the immediate environs I could upload them for everyone. Although the opinion has never been seconded, I've thought all throughout that the strong clueing of Nelson was homage to the man behind Count Von Count whose home sweet home is Belvedere Castle. And if you see a cannon anywhere, I'd ask you to stick your hand in to see if there is a manila folder giving instructions on how to redeem the prize (see Moonlighting "Under the Rainbow" episode I've previously discussed and manila folder in Tutty's hammock -- especially if the cannon has now been installed at Fort Clinton (in the northern part of the park).

I've previously explained that I am biased toward Central Park because of its beauty and don't mean to divert from folks' other favorite spots throughout the City. But I can only participate through the kindness of strangers who send photo recon. I see a real value of photos that might permit someone to see some other clue that fits.

rocketdocketSPLATrocketmail.com
(Panoramio and google earth are certainly amazing for photos and I recommend them whatever venue is of your interest in the 5 boroughs).

srk or whoever sends photos, you can keep 100% of the prize because I'm doing just for the fun.

Note that as the Captain takes the candle toward the end he takes the last steps up. So I would be sure to go up in the turret at Belvedere Castle -- which provides the safe and beautiful view of Mulligan's Crow's Nest. Be sure to check out the bird watching equipment they give you -- there is even a tree with birds identified. Also, of course, gaze out on the Turtle Pond where you can go fish. I would ask the name of the pet turtle there in the castle. Is it Tutty?

There is a pavilion made of melted cannons from that ship featured by the monument at Columbus Circle.

And most of all, the castle looks like the model that Russell Crowe had made out of hasty pudding that he shoved in his mouth.

At the end of the day, I think the key is the Port of Cortland clue is very important. I think it refers to Apple (see my previous explanation about how there are that many ports and one port in an Apple computer is hidden). And there is a version of the Central Park map with apples. Once you see the Cleopatra Needle clued by the two crabs, the Three Bears (from the fairytale perhaps clued) etc. following directions might work by understanding the clues to refer to different apples on the map and understanding the apples as ports.

I would also stop off at the swedish marionette place where the puppeteers would perform shows. Not far from the Morse statue. Director's name is cannon. It's about due west of the castle. Why was Crothers arm stuck in the cannon again? (I forget without looking).

If a giant turtle came up and blew things up, might that have led to them forgetting where the treasure was? In looking for turtles, don't you want to check out the Turtle Pond?

Finally, I would check out the other gothic bridge in the area (not "The Gothic Bridge" which I've had checked). It seems to have squid on top just like The Gothic Bridge. I think gothic architecture has been heavily clued.

anagram
I etta the ice cream ---> cache item tied tree

UDbmas,

I vaguely recall that "I etta the ice cream" anagrammed to
"cache item tied tree"

So if I were in New York City, or if it didn't cost a measurable part of $10,000 just to rent a place to stay there for a night, I might go there and first try to look for a manila folder tied to a tree in the low weeds.

Personally, I would start at the Turtle Pond.

For windowsele, that's killing me. It anagrams into "in low weeds". Maybe Mulligan spouts anagrams in his weird outbursts, and combining the anagrams will lead to the treasure?

You missed something I thought important:

Quote:
Captain: There ain't nothing sneaky about switching the "C" with the "P".

Mulligan: But you see what I did with the "C"...

"C" sound goes from S to K

I'm confused. When he says "C", that sound is the hard "K" sound?

Starting over

Like some of you, I got pretty lost at The Larry King and only half paid attention. Now that we know that Mulligan is the one we should have been listening to, I am BACK IN THE GAME!

I went back and watched the first two episodes keying in on only Mulligan;s clues. It appears that there are EIGHT legit clues in each episode. With Pirates' love of the number eight, this might be the right way to go. This is what I came up with (although I have not put together what they mean yet:

Episode 1:
1) First had the gold in central park (self explanatory)
2) His Morse code (somebody said "Wallach Walk")
3) Finger trap (no clue)
4) "Pentral Cark" (probably tells to use anagrams later)
5) Windowsill vs. windowsele (hmmmmmmm)
6) "Belly Jeans" (another anagram reminder?)
7) Hightest point in the ship (we all know that I want this to mean Todt's Hill,, but it also might be an anagram....anagram finder says there are only 58 options...not sure which one yet)
Cool "re-trace our steps" Ilike this to mean Statin Islend again given the 5 figures that it creates and the geographic location of the circled one)

Episode 2:
1) Raising the flag (looks a lot like the ball fields in central park)
2) British 2 decker (?)
3) French blew a hole in the cabin (?)
4) "Potato" (another possible anagram?)
5) Crows nest again
6) I think I gotta pee (restroom along the trail?)
7) Hold out 'till Dark (?)
Cool The main statue discription (should be self explanatory

Does this seem like the right line of thinking? Does anybody else want to pick up from there on subsequent videos? (I have to leave work)

You have some interesting theories here. I actually live newar CC, so I will take the opportunity to check some of them out if I have a chance tomorrow. I can tell you that there is no cannon at the Blockhouse. I checked it out once unrelated to this game, and it is quite boring -- just a big cubical structure with a flagpole in the middle.

Gorilla in the Cabin
Gorilla Rep is repertory theatre group that plays CP (esp. shakespeare)

The Gorilla Repertory Theatre Company, also known as Gorilla Rep, is an environmental theater company based out of Brooklyn. Best known for its perennial production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Gorilla Rep brings plays to parks all over New York City from its inception in 1989 through today.

Gorilla Rep's repertoire consists primarily of the works of William Shakespeare and other classics, with occasional works by modern playwrights. Most of Gorilla Rep's productions are performed outdoors, in various parks in New York City, with local environmental features worked into the staging of the show Imagine if it were to rain on Sunday and they were to try to move into the swedish marionette cottage near the morse statue - not far from Belvedere Castle.

The crowd would be screaming "Gorilla in the Cabin!"

Then if someone were to fall and trip over the manila folder giving instructions to redeem the prize in the welostourgold challenge, they would cry out,

"I'll call! I'll call!"

and then

"I called! I called!"

and then they would exclaim

"I'm on TV! I'm on TV!"

It would be like the finder of the treasure would be playing Mulligan's part.

p.s. Now if you throw in Sunday brunch, I'll even go look with you.

I think you mean "I etted the ice cream" not etta, you need the d for the anagram - not two A's.

Aren't they referring to the Dairy in Central Park?
